Calling all long distance runners! If you’re looking for 5K or 10K races held in Kentucky this Fall, you’re in luck. There are plenty of races to participate in and what better way to enjoy the beautiful Fall weather and help raise money for important causes at the same time. If you’re looking for great 5K and 10K running events in Kentucky during the Fall, below is a list that will help you get started.

Notes: This is the 7th Annual Race for Education held in Midway, Kentucky. A sounding off by a locomotive from R.J. Corman will start the race. Dan Hill and Friends will provide live Bluegrass music. Breakfast will be prepared by Darlin’ Jean’s.
This race typically has about 300-500 participants every year and permits wheelchairs and strollers. Walkers are welcome to join as well.
Race: Home of the Innocents – 10K run – 5K run/walk

Notes: Pre-register by Thursday, October 22 to guarantee your preferred T-shirt size (the first 1000 participants will receive a complimentary Home Run 2009 T-shirt). You can pick up your packets of information early on Thursday, October 22nd from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm at Home of the Innocents which is located at 1100 East Market Street in Louisville.
All proceeds will benefit the children of Home of the Innocents which takes care of children who have been abandoned, neglected or abused. Around 250 children receive services daily at the Home.
Race: Medical Center 10K Wheelchair Race (30th Anniversary)

Cost of Race: If you register by October 2nd cost is $30 individual and $70 for family; register between October 3-29 cost is $35 individual and $90 for family; register after October 29, cost is $40 per individual and $110 per family.

The fees of the race include a long-sleeve T-shirt, free admission of the Health and Fitness Expo, free admission to the Pasta Dinner, a pre-race breakfast, snack and beverage, a post race snack and beverage, free babysitting services on the day of the race, and an automatic entry into the $1,000 Early Bird Drawing (if you register by October 2nd).
