Important Note: Before reading these Bible verses, it is my hope, first and foremost, that we remember that the Bible wasn’t written to us, but for us. That said, we ought to approach the Bible as something more than a personal book that we come to in order to ‘get us through the day’ or ‘feel better’. I say this because these Bible verses on justice are singled out and obviously removed from their original context. In doing so, I am not advocating study that replaces thorough, contextual, exegetical work. It is my prayer that we remember to study the Bible as best we can in its original context before we recontextualize and seek its application to our own lives.

There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” 32 In spite of this, you did not trust in the LORD your God, 33 who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go.
