Every fall there is an abundance of fall festivals and events located all over the state of Oregon. Its one of the most exciting times of the year to take your family and enjoy autumn. Here is a list of several fall festivals and must see events in the state.
1) The Pumpkin Patch at Sauvie Island, Oregon

Every year the pumpkin patch kicks off its grand opening with a wonderful fall festival. This year the festivities will start September 5, 2009 and end on October 31, 2009. They have a large pumpkin field that you can walk out into or ride several hayride tractors to. Once there you can choose pumpkins fresh from the field to purchase. They also have their annual Corn Maize every year which is amazing. The admission to the maize is $7 per person. Children 6-12 are $5 and Seniors are $5. They also feature a Haunted Field Of Screams Maize for $10 per person.
There is food available on the premises, plus a wonderful fruit and vegetable store, and a very nice gift store.
For children there is a wonderful animal barn with several varieties of farm animals to pet.
The Pumpkin Patch has been in operation for over forty years and is a wonderful place for the whole family.

2) 27th Annual Hood River Valley Harvest Fest
Hood River, Oregon
This festival is held at the Hood River Events Site. Admission is $5 per adult. Children 12 and under are free. Parking is also free.
This is event is filled with excellent fresh produce, live music, crafts, and food. It is fun for the whole family and a very anticipated event for locals.

3) Annual Squishing Of The Squash
The Oregon zoo in Portland holds their annual squishing of the squash for the entire family to enjoy. At this time they roll out absolutely huge pumpkins and let the elephants squish each one and then enjoy feasting on them.
This is a very anticipated event for locals and tourists alike. Children seem to especially enjoy this fun fall event.

4) Bend Fall Festival
This event has been held in Bend Oregon for the last nine years. This year the dates will be October 3 and 4, 2009. There will be hundreds of artisans in attendance, live music, excellent food, and beer and wine tasting. There will be a pumpkin competition and hay rides for the children. There is no admission cost.
Locals always look forward to this Fall Festival and it is well worth attending. The small town atmosphere adds to the homey feel as everyone welcomes autumn.
5) Corvallis Fall Festival
This is a wonderful place to enjoy local artists. There will be over 170 artistic booths in attendance this year. The festival will be held on September 26-27, 2009 There is no admission cost.
This year there will be wine tasting, wonderful music, food, and fun for the whole family.
