Every year there are several must visit haunted houses and Halloween attractions in and around Houston Texas. These are guaranteed to scare and thrill. Many of them encourage older children only but it is up to the parents discretion. Every child is different. However, please remember that some of these haunted houses are quite extreme, even for adults.
1) Screamworld located at 2225 North Sam Houston Parkway, West Houston, TX
This haunted attraction has been a favorite in the Houston area for the last nine years. It offers three haunted houses in one location plus a maze, and a haunted cemetery. This is an extreme event and is not recommended for children under the age of twelve. But it is up to the parents discretion.
Screamworld is handicap accessible.
Admission to all five attractions is $25 per person. They do offer a $35 VIP admission which pushes you to the head of the line. Thursdays are student days. Bring your student ID card and you will get $7 off general admission. Sunday nights are family nights and you can receive $5 off admission.

2) Nightmare On The Bayou is located next to Party Boy at 1515 Studemont St Houston, TX 77007-3823
This haunted house is actually haunted which sets it apart from others. It is an extreme attraction so all children under the age of ten must be accompanied by an adult. This haunted house offers over 15,000 square feet of sheer terror.
Admission to this attraction is $30 per person or you can have VIP for $40 which means no waiting in line. Sunday is family night so admission is only $25 per person. Active military receive tickets for $15 per person.
3) Phobia has two locations. One is at 18777 Highway 280 and Mall Of The Mainland right across from Dog Track.
This is an attraction that has two separate locations which contain separate haunts. The first location of Phobia has six haunted houses. The admission to this attraction is $50 per person if you wish to attend all six haunted houses. Or you can do $12.00 for one house, $20.00 for two houses, $30.00 for three houses, $40.00 for four houses or $45.00 for five houses.
The second location of Phobia contains three houses. Their admission is $12.00 per person for one haunt, $20.00 for two, and $30.00 for three.
Their grand opening is September 26th. Their hours are 8-midnight.
