I enjoy trying different brands and types of frozen dinners. Recently, I came across Michelina’s Lean Gourmet Sesame Chicken Dinner in the frozen dinner section of my local grocery store. I decided to purchase this meal, try it and write a product review about it. Here is what I discovered!
Michelina’s Lean Gourmet Sesame Chicken Dinner is very affordable, I discovered. I purchased this single serve meal for one dollar and fifty cents. Not a bad deal for a name brand low fat and low cal easy to prepare dinner. I can often find Michelina’s frozen dinners for one dollar each on sale. I do like many Michelina’s food products and I could not wait to try this meal. This dinner has sesame plum sauce, white meat chicken, pasta, green beans, carrots, water chestnuts, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, soy sauce, garlic, sesame seeds, red wine vinegar and ginger among many other spices and ingredients. Sigh. Ginger. I like that spice but, this dinner did over do that ingredient, in my opinion.
The preparation of Michelina’s Lean Gourmet Sesame Chicken Dinner is simple, easy and fast. This dinner is made for microwave cooking. I only had to vent the side, cook for five minutes on high, stirring once during cooking. I then let this meal stand for a few minutes. I stirred and served. This dinner smelled pretty good. When I tasted it, I truly tried to like it. So many good ingredients. The pasta was tender, the plum sauce was good yet, a bit too sweet. The general ingredients in this frozen dinner were great but, the strong ginger taste did not blend very well. That is my opinion. More work on the flavor and spices of this dinner needs to be done. It was too sweet.
I enjoyed trying this dinner and writing a product review about it. I will not be buying this meal again. Something just did not please my taste buds. I rate Michelina’s Lean Gourmet Sesame Chicken Dinner two and one half stars out of five stars. It is low cal and low fat. Still, that does not make up for the funky unpleasant flavor that wars with the chicken. Alrighty, then. This meal has two hundred and seventy calories. Only twenty of these calories come from fat. This dinner has only two grams of total fat, zero grams of saturated fat, zero grams of trans fat, fifteen mg’s of cholesterol, six hundred and fifty mg’s of sodium, fifty-one grams of total carbs, two grams of dietary fiber, fifteen grams of sugars and eleven grams of protein. This meal does have vitamins A, C and iron in it. This product does contain soy, tree nuts, sesame seeds and wheat.
You can find this dinner in the frozen meal section of many grocery stores. For more information about this product, visit the michelinas.com web site. I do not recommend this dinner. It has a strange unpleasing taste to it. My opinion.
