Alexis Cohen’s death made massive headlines due to Alexis Cohen role as an infamous American Idol contestant. The Alexis Cohen death shocked Idol fans and made them remember her two separate tirades during auditions. Alexis Cohen’s death is being mourned, while the investigation of her death has already led to an arrest. Yesterday, police arrested the man that they think caused Alexis Cohen’s death via a hit and run this past weekend.
Alexis Cohen was put into death when a car struck her on Saturday morning, according to New Jersey police. Cohen was only 24, but she had already gained quite a resume on American Idol without even going to Hollywood.
Before her death, Alexis Cohen had tried in both Season 7 and Season 8 to get on American Idol, but was rejected both times. In both instances, Cohen lashed out at the judges, especially Simon Cowell, when she was panned.
It is an infamous tradition that people on American Idol can become just as famous from embarrassing auditions and rants, than they can for performing. Alexis Cohen was the most famous Idol contestant to fail in her auditions since William Hung, but her achievements ended there after her death on Saturday.
Cohen was just 24 when she died, as police went through an “extensive investigation” to find out who killed her. Eventually, police claim that they got a tip about a driver who passed Cohen’s body at the time of the vehicular homicide.
According to the Asbury Park Press, police believe that a 23-year-old from Toms River is the cause of Alexis Cohen’s death. He was identified as Daniel Bark, who was officially charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene of the collision.
The charges could get Bark 10-15 years in jail if he is convicted, with bail set at $35,000. Though the charges are probably standard, nothing else about the case stands to be, since Alexis Cohen was attached to the American Idol name – albeit briefly.
Earlier last week, American Idol was attached to death in another fashion, as a Denver man got his dog killed when he left the canine in his hot car for hours, while he was waiting in line for Idol auditions. As a result, Simon Cowell himself had to film a quick PSA for PETA to warn against leaving dogs in cars for so long.
Nevertheless, Cowell is in a death story again this week, due to the memories of Alexis Cohen going off on him in the Season 7 and 8 auditions. For those memories, Alexis Cohen’s death is being felt in the Idol fan community.
