If no hydrogenated oils, artificial preservatives, flavors not colors attracts you, the back to nature cracker line may be what you’ve been seeking. With 5 grams of whole grains, even the snack food junkie won’t turn away.
Distributed in Madison, Wisconsin Back to Nature cracker lines are available in select grocery stores. We found these tasty health crackers among the “chips and cracker” aisle in our local Wal-Mart store. Unlike other health crackers, I have to admit, we were drawn to these due to the price and grams of fiber per serving. In our local Ohio store we purchased one box for around $2.50, about a third of the price.
Apparently Back to Nature is a company that has been producing quality products since 1960 in Pasadena, California. As a small health food store, the first product line was low-fat granola and has now grown into selling cereal, cracker, juice, nuts, dinners and cookies. The company’s motto is “happiness = food should make you smile; connection= food should connect you to family, community and the planet; simplicity = food should be uncomplicated – deliciously simple; and natural ingenuity = food should be made with the finest ingredients.
Due to the staff’s dedication to this philosophy, the products are now being sold in just about all states. Some of the more popular stores to purchase these crackers are Wal-Mart, Target, Whole Foods, Jewel, Kroger, Kroger, Von’s and so many more places. In addition, Amazon is also selling Back to Nature crackers daily.
In our store there were only three flavors however there are really ten. Classic rounds, crispy crackers, crispy wheats, harvest whole wheats, multigrain flax flatbread crackers, organic stone ground wheats, poppy thyme snack crackers, sesame tarragon snack crackers, sunflower basil snack crackers, and white cheddar flax flatbread crackers.
Our latest trip through the snack aisle proved to be successful when we picked up the Sunflower Basil crackers. It contains basic ingredients such as sea salt, olive oil, sunflower seeds, basil and so on. It contains no cholesterol, 0grams Trans fat, no hydrogenated oils and no artificial preservatives, flavors or colors. It is a known fat that sunflower seeds are full of healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, phytochemicals and so on.
When we purchased the sunflower basil crackers we were slightly concerned the product was going to be another gimmick brand in a brown recycled box. Thankfully we were surprised to find that these little crackers are a perfect healthy choice for shocking. Not only do they taste wonderful) no cardboard flavors here) but they are reasonable low in calories compared to other brands. With 17 crackers per serving, snack’ers can enjoy 140 calories, 5 grams of total fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 260 mg sodium, and 3 grams of sugars.
These tasty crackers are the perfect “bang for a person’s buck”. For under $3.00 you can have 6 servings of healthy snacks. We both highly suggest the purchase of your first box for you to see for yourself how flavorful these crackers will bring to your taste-buds.
