Among the items that I regularly buy at both Walgreens and CVS Pharmacies are flex, or flexible fabric bandages. Through the years, I have purchased and used many different brands of this type of bandage. Most of the time however, I end up purchasing and using either Band- Aid or Walgreens brand plastic bandages. Although these products are similar in type and size, their regular retail prices quite often differ greatly. Both of these brands of plastic bandages are also very effective and comfortable to wear. I am so impressed with the comfort and overall high quality of these items, that I decided to write a product comparison review of them. Presented here, in an effort to assist the consumer, is a product review of Band – Aid Plastic Comfort – Flex Adhesive Bandages and Walgreens Plastic Bandages.
The size of the Band – Aid Plastic Comfort – Flex Adhesive Bandages and the Walgreens brand Plastic Bandages is very similar. Each of these brands of plastic bandages is approximately 3/4 x 3 inches. Also, the boxes of each of these brands of plastic bandages contains 60 bandages, which provides for many uses. Both of these brands of plastic bandages also take up very little storage space.
Band – Aid Plastic Comfort – Flex Adhesive Bandages and Walgreens Plastic Bandages are both packaged in cardboard boxes. Inside the boxes, the plastic bandages are packaged in individual wrappers that keep the bandages sterile until they are opened. The wrappers are also easy to open.
The texture of both of these brands of plastic bandages is very important. The comfort factor is especially important when these bandages are worn on parts of the body that move or are used frequently. When it comes to comfort, although both brands are comfortable to wear, I really think that the Band – Aid plastic bandages are a tiny bit more comfortable than the Walgreens variety. Sometimes however, the Band – Aid brand plastic bandages are harder to remove from the skin.
The regular retail price charged for one 60 – count box of Band – Aid Plastic Comfort – Flex Adhesive Bandages at Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets and pharmacies is approximately $3.19
The regular retail price charged for one 60 – count box of Walgreens Plastic Bandages at Hartford, Connecticut area Walgreens Pharmacies is approximately $1.79. Because these two brands of plastic are so similar in size, quality and effectiveness, I find the price of the Walgreens product to be much more reasonable than the price of the Band – Aid brand product.
Band – Aid Plastic Comfort – Flex Adhesive Bandages are generally stocked and sold at pharmacies and supermarkets everywhere. Walgreens Plastic Bandages are regularly stocked and sold at Walgreens Pharmacies across America.
Based upon personal experience, I find that both Band – Aid Plastic Comfort – Flex Adhesive Bandages and Walgreens brand Plastic Bandages are essentially equally effective. Both of these brands of plastic bandages hold up well when they are exposed to water and they usually hold, even after taking a shower or washing the dishes.
All things considered, Band – Aid Plastic Comfort – Flex Adhesive Bandages and Walgreens Plastic Bandages are high – quality and effective products that are generally reasonably – priced. In this consumer writer’s opinion, both of these products are worth buying and are highly recommended.
