Buying a cheap Christmas gift for mom is something many people feel uncomfortable doing. They equate money with love and feel as if they’re saying they don’t love their mom, if they only buy a cheap gift. In fact, that’s not true at all. Particularly in this economy, it’s fine to buy your mom an inexpensive Christmas gift. So long as you know it’s something she’ll love, a cheap Christmas gift can still be a great one.
Buy Mom a Book and Chocolate for Christmas – My mom has always loved to read, so buying her a book and some chocolate for Christmas was always top of my list. If your mom, like mine, is a reader, trot down to your local bookshop and pick up a book by her favorite author. Add a bar of chocolate so she has something to nibble on while she’s reading it and, for under $10, there’s a cheap but fun gift your mom is sure to love.
Buy Mom a Blank Book Journal and Pen – Another really fun cheap Christmas gift for mom is a blank book journal and a cute or unique pen to write in it with. If your mom loves to keep a diary, a blank book journal is a great place to do it in and there’s some very pretty ones out there. Try Target, Walgreens or any department store and don’t forget to buy her a fun, silly or cool pen to go with it. She’ll think of you then, every time she writes in it.
Coffee Mug, Drink Sachets and Chocolate Spoons – If your mom likes a nice cuppa, a great cheap Christmas gift is a unique coffee mug, a couple of sachets of her favorite coffee or hot chocolate, some cool tea bags and a packet of chocolate dipped spoons. Then, every time she has a drink which, if she’s like my mom is 20 times a day, she’ll think of you and know how much you love her.
Cookie Mix and Cookie Cutters – If your mom is a baker, she’ll love a couple of packets of her favorite cookie mix and some fun or interesting cookie cutters. For less than $15, you can buy two or three different cookies mixes (chocolate, peanut butter, sugar cookies) and a set of unique cookie cutters (snowmen, dogs, cats, houses, faces – there’s all kinds of things on the market). An inexpensive gift for mom for Christmas.
Ross and Marshalls – Don’t forget, if you have a Ross or Marshalls near by, they’re wonderful stores for cheap Christmas gifts for mom but gifts that look a lot more expensive. Candles, scarves, bags, name brand perfume, household decorative items, photo frames, shower curtains, towels – they sell just about everything, and at prices a good 25% of regular department stores.
Just remember, there are many options for cheap Christmas gifts for mom that will still show her how much you love her. You don’t have to spend a fortune on your mom for Christmas. In fact, she’d probably prefer it if you didn’t.
