This is part 5 of my countdown of the best songs of the past decade for a 2010 New Year’s Eve party. If you’re looking for songs that will make your 2010 New Year’s Eve party a high-octane way to bring in the new year, you’ve got to check out some of the biggest hits of 2004 here (for 2003, check out this list). From amazing dance songs to a lot of songs about shakin’ and Britney’s sexiest (plus one of the greatest songs of the decade for making a girl feel sexy), the best songs of the past decade from 2004 will be sure to make your 2010 New Year’s Eve party an unforgettable one:
Yeah! by Usher Featuring Lil Jon & Ludacris – Here’s one of my many favorite best songs of the decade featuring Lil Jon! Here he brings more “Okays!” and “Yeahs!” in the most eloquent way possible (and Usher and Ludacris aren’t too bad, either). This is one of the best songs of the decade for playing at your 2010 New Year’s Eve party to get the girls and guys groovin’ on the dance floor, and a great tribute to one of the most memorable music figures of the past decade (thanks in part to Dave Chappelle).
This Love by Maroon 5 – And if you’re looking for the best songs of the past decade to slow things down a little at your 2010 New Year’s Eve Party, here’s one that the ladies will love. It’s one of the sexiest songs of the decade, and everyone at your 2010 New Year’s Eve party will enjoy reminiscing about all the times they’ve said goodbye before (and make New Year’s resolutions about trying to avoid that in 2010).
Hey Ya! by OutKast – Here’s one of the most high-energy songs of the decade, as well as one of the most popular. It’s one of the more difficult songs to dance to, but play it at your 2010 New Year’s Eve party, and enjoy watching your guests try to do their own hip hop versions of the quick step to this catchy tune.
Tipsy by J-Kwon – This is one of those songs that took me quite a while to finally learn the lyrics to (I kept forgetting to look them up on the internet), and when I finally did, the song made a lot more sense (I thought there was something naughtier being said). Anyway, it has a great message for your 2010 New Year’s Eve party, and it’s one of my favorite dance songs of the decade (not that I need a song to tell me to get tipsy!).
Slow Motion by Juvenile Featuring Soulja Slim – And here’s another of the slower songs on this list, but one that will inspire a lot of sexy dancing at your 2010 New Year’s Eve party. Be sure to have a strobe light on hand when you play one of the best sexy slow songs of the decade to really get that freaky slow motion effect.
Freek-a-Leek by Petey Pablo – This is one of those weird songs with weird words of the past decade that just somehow works. It’s another of the best dance songs of the decade, and while the lyrics are goofy as hell, it’s a hell of a lot of fun to dance to and will have everyone on the dance floor at your 2010 New Year’s Eve party (plus girls will love it if their name is one of the many listed in the song).
Milkshake by Kelis – This is probably one of the most unforgettable songs of the decade, and one that has been parodied numerous times. Still, everyone will love hearing it at your 2010 New Year’s Eve party, and every girl will be out on the dance floor shaking the milkshakes that their mamas gave them.
Toxic by Britney Spears – This is definitely one of the best songs of the decade, in my opinion. Britney Spear’s toxic tune is one of the most addictive dance songs of 2004, and one that you absolutely have to play at your 2010 New Year’s Eve party in honor of her triumphant return. The music is different than any of the other dance songs on this list, and everyone at your 2010 New Year’s Eve party will love reminiscing about the days when Britney was still one of the biggest sex symbols in the world.
Salt Shaker by Ying Yang Twins Featuring Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz – Shaking like a salt shaker doesn’t seem like one of the sexiest dance moves there is, but the Ying Yang Twins make it sound pretty alluring. It’s one of the many great dance songs on this list for getting everyone out on the dance floor giving it all they’ve got, and a song that’s best served at your 2010 New Year’s Eve party with a drink with a salted rim.
Are you Gonna be my Girl by Jet – And here’s one of the best songs on this list for making a girl feel sexy. It’s one of the few non-dance songs on this list, but as one of the most popular songs of the decade, you’ve got to play it at your 2010 New Year’s Eve party in honor of all the girls that show up with big black boots and long brown hair.
So from dance songs that make you wanna shake to a few rock hits especially for the ladies, hopefully the best songs of the past decade of 2004 will make everyone at your 2010 New Year’s Eve party have a good time before New Year’s resolution time (be sure to have a milkshake and get tipsy before you vow to change!).
