Best Vampire Music for Halloween

by sawpan

Vampire Music and songs for Halloween parties are a “must” this year. With the popularity of the movie, Twilight, and the upcoming sequel, every vampire song ever recorded has crept out of the crypt and shown up on Halloween music playlists everywhere.

The thing about vampire music – more than any other Halloween theme – is vampire songs come in all types to get your blood racing. There are cute vampire songs for kids, vampire music you’d let your mom listen to, and then there are the deep, dark and twisty vampire songs.

Most of the fans of the bands that play dark and twisty vampire music (like Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper) know right where to go to find them. This list features songs you could play at most Halloween parties for kids of all ages. My Halloween list of the best in vampire music includes some popular songs you’ll know – as well as some I searched for on a dark and gloomy night right before Halloween!

All of these songs can be found on iTunes!

Popular Vampire Songs for Halloween

Love Song for a Vampire – Annie Lennox
Moon Over Bourbon Street – Sting
This Annie Lennox vampire song crops up on everyone’s list as a Halloween Vampire favorite! If you enjoy this Annie Lennox fave, then you’ll also like this classic vampire song by Sting.

Nosferatu – Blue Oyster Cult
Bloodletting – Concrete Blonde
These two vampire songs were the most often mentioned after the Annie Lennox classic. They are much creepier but you could probably throw one or both of them into a playlist for all ages and get away with it.

Theme from Buffy the Vampire Slayer– Knightsbridge
Everyone will remember this music from a favorite vampire television show!

My Immortal – Evanescence
Everyone familiar with the music of this group will realize why this is a good one to include on your vampire music playlist.

Vampires – Pet Shop Boys
Another good one for Halloween.

Vampire Music Worth Giving a Listen
Not all vampires go for the dark and twisty. From my research on vampire songs, I was suprised to find that vampires and vampire fans listen to all types of music. So, here are some vampire songs from all types of musical genres.

Alternative Music – here are some vampire songs you might enjoy for Halloween.

Sexy Vampire – Bella Cullen Project
Vampire – Sinead O’Connor
(also a reggae song)
Taste of Blood – Mazzy Star
Vampire Heart – H.I.M.
Vampire Love – Ash
The Vampire Club – Voltaire
(my favorite for fun and for a Halloween party)
Vampire – The Blakes
Vampire – Xandria

Rock Music – from early to more current rock music, everyone has written about vampires at some point. You’ll enjoy these.

Vampire Girl – Jonathan Richman
Night of the Vampire – Roky Erickson
Dracula Moon – Joan Osbourne
I am a Vampire – VAST
Do the Vampire – Superdrag
V is for Vampire – Power5000
Vampire – The Divine Madness
Rockabilly Vampire – Ralph Rebel

Vampire Blues – evidently vampires get the blues quite often because plenty of people like to write about it. There are so many vampire blues songs that the subject deserves its own category. I suggest giving each of these vampire songs a listen. All of them are fun and some are actually bluesy. Great for your Halloween vampire music playlist.

Vampire Blues – Neil Young
Vampire Blues – Loudon Wainwright III
Vampire Blues – Pat Thomas
Vampire Blues – Ceiling Star
Vampire Blues – Snowman
Vampire’s Blues – George Lawton
Vampire Blues Pt. 2 – Heat-Ray
Vampire Bitin’ Blues – Frank N. Stein
Vampire’s Lament – Count Ridicula

Vampire of Love – Rhythm Rockets (this vampire’s a little happier but the music is blues)

Electronic/Dance – electronic music can always be fun for a party so don’t forget these songs when planning for Halloween.

Oh Sexy Vampire – Fright Ranger
Vampire – Myon & Shane 54
Vampire – Paul St. Hilaire & Rodney Hunter
Vikram the Vampire – Talvin Singh

Hip-Hop/Rap – there’s even a Vampire song in this genre. Who knew? Now you do!
Vampire – Kung Fu Vampire

Foreign Language – when I found Vampire music for this category on iTunes I had to include it. I’m looking for more. How fun!
Dracula – Nanette Workman
– this French pop song would be fun to throw into your Halloween Party mix.

Instrumental/Soundtracks – these are always good for throwing in the Halloween playlist. Even if they are all instrumental – or don’t specially address vampires – it’s fun to add the creepy music or try to remember what movie or show the song is from.
I Kissed a Vampire, Season 1
Bram Stoker’s Dracula Soundtrack
Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles
Twilight
(you didn’t think I’d forget it, did you?)
