Cafe W Chocolatey Chunk Cookie: A Review

by saw pan

Yesterday I was in a rush and didn’t have to time to eat an adequate breakfast. But I needed something to tide me over during my morning commute, so I headed into a nearby Walgreen’s and headed straight to the snack aisle.

I had a taste for a chocolate chip cookie, which always makes for a great breakfast, and the one by the Walgreen’s brand Café W looked delicious. Even though it didn’t have an expiration date and I was suspicious that it might be stale, I grabbed it anyway and headed to the checkout area.

Texture of
Café W Chocolately Chunk Cookie

I knew that this cookie was supposed to have a hard texture rather a chewy one, but when I bit into it, it was as hard as a brick! It was beyond stale and unfortunately I was too far beyond the Walgreen’s to return it.

Taste of
Café W Chocolately Chunk Cookie

Even though the cookie was stale, I must say that it had a surprisingly good taste. The cookie itself wasn’t overly sweet, it had more of a home-style flavor and the chocolate chunks were made of milk chocolate so it didn’t have a bitter taste.

In the End…

Because I liked the flavor of the Café W Chocolatey Chunk Cookie, I was going to give it a second shot and try a fresher one. But once I read the ingredients, after I bought it, I saw that it contained hydrogenated oils and so many grams of trans fat, that I decided against buying it again. The flavor was good, but this cookie is just way too unhealthy for me. With all things considered, I give the Chocolatey Chunk Cookie 2.5 out of 5 stars.
