This year creative director Francisco Costa seemed to focus on a simple elegance in the wonderful Spring 2010 Calvin Klein Collection. The fashions were soft and feminine. Most were worn loose but not extremely baggy. They gave the appearance of being soft and flowing.
Many of the styles in this collection were slip designs that tended to be short. Many of these simple dresses sported long sleeve jackets for a crisp spring day or to give them the appearance of professional business attire.
One of the soft spring ensembles was just a simple loose slip style dress with a casual long sleeve jacket worn loosely over the top. The simplicity of the dress spoke volumes.
Another creation was a gauzy black slip style dress with a pattern of tan and white air brushed across the front. The material gave the feel of a soft spring day.
There was a sheer floor length sun dress that was loose and flowing. It was a deep dark gray. It sported a pattern of fabric ridges across the length of it which gave it a unique appearance. I loved the feeling of being a free spirit that this dress seemed to convey. It was perfect for a spring day or you could place a few accessories with it and wear it for an evening out. The dress offered extreme versatility. The neckline scooped down to give a glimpse of sexuality.
One of the cute fashions was a short crinkly cotton material that was a simple shift type dress. It was layers of dark gray, light gray, tan and white coloring down the dress in large horizontal swoops. Over the dress was a simple gray shirt coat that was made of a soft flowing fabric with extra long sleeves that sported light tan ruffling and around the base of the coat was the same ruffling.
A pearl white shift style dress was worn with a longer flowing white over coat that was styled similar to a large baggy linen shirt. The dress itself was made up of a sheer soft fabric that appeared to be composed of two layers. It was soft and sexy. The effect was stunning.
One lovely soft blue simple sun dress that was quite short hung on the models body loosely. It was plain and simple made of a crinkling blue light blue fabric. The simplicity of it was the appeal. You could play it up or down. With a wonderful simple dress like this you have the unlimited choices simply by the accessories that you choose to wear with it. It can be the perfect dress for evening or a business meeting or you can simply wear it for a spring walk. The options are limitless.
Another dress appeared to be made of the same crinkling material but it was in a tan, dark brown, and reddish color. The design was large splashes of coloring. It sported one sleeve that reached to the elbow and the other side was completely sleeveless. The look was unique and different. I still enjoyed the softness of the fabric.
The entire line seemed to have a versatility to it that I adored. You could play up an outfit or play it down for a different function. It offered true versatility. You could purchase one dress and wear it a dozen different ways. It could be worn for business, casual afternoons, or evenings on the town. The choices were only limited by your own imagination. This seemed to be the true appeal of the entire Spring 2010 Collection.
