Did you know that former Miss California had a sex tape video? Of course you did. According to websites like Radar Online and an audiotaped conversation between an ex-boyfriend and TMZ, Carrie Prejean has quite a few more than one sex tape video. In fact, depending upon who you choose to believe, Carrie Prejean may have as many as 20 sex tapes, possibly more. But besides the sex tapes, did you know that Carrie Prejean had a new book out as well? No? You hadn’t heard? It must have been all the furor over the sex tapes that kept that interesting tidbit from becoming public knowledge.
But she does. Former Miss California Carrie Prejean has a book out entitled Still Standing: The Untold Story of My Fight Against Gossip, Hate, and Political Attacks. She has attempted to talk about it on talk shows like “The View,” “Hannity,” and “Larry King Live,” but nobody really cares. Although some of the many shows booked her to talk about her book, by the time she appeared on the shows, everything focused on the sex tape video just as soon as the hosts got a couple of obligatory questions in about the book. It would be safe to say — although speculative — that any new interview dates she’s lined up since news of her sex tape video was posted by TMZ probably were the result of news of the sex tape or the reaction to the news that there was a sex tape. News that the blonde beauty queen had a sex tape has overshadowed everything else.
Including the fact that Carrie Prejean has a brand new book out…
And since her stated age in the sex tape video(s) has come into question (Carrie Prejean maintained that she was 17) and the possibility exists that the dethroned beauty queen just might be streaming soon (or already might be), what Prejean has to say in the book might be moot. Caught in a series of lies that ended with her religious discrimination lawsuit against the Miss California USA Pageant, Carrie Prejean saw her l$ million lawsuit go down in flames when the Pageant allegedly produced a solo sex tape of the 22-year-old as leverage in the negotiations.
But she reportedly got to keep the rights to the tell-all book, Still Standing, that Miss California USA could have sued her for (because it was partially written while Carrie Prejean was still Miss California and the organization did not agree to it). So it stands to reason that Carrie Prejean is trying to hawk her book for all she’s worth…
But the Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, issued the statement: “Carrie’s version of the truth and the facts are two very different things. Sadly, it appears that Carrie is frequently in error, but never in doubt. From my dealings with Carrie, I simply do not understand how she could have any credibility in the public eye.”
And then there are the lies. About her nude pictures (while she still held the title of Miss California), about how many there were, about how old she was. And then there is the contract itself where she did not disclose any of the information, although she was ethically obliged to do so. And when the sex tape(s) surfaced, she immediately told everyone she was 17. But the ex-boyfriend told TMZ that she was at least 19 and some of the videos she sexted him (he insisted she sent them regularly) were sent when she was 21.
Lies have a way of limiting one’s credibility. Since Carrie Prejean’s credibility had already been severely compromised by earlier discovered falsehoods, the new alleged falsehood regarding her age in the sex tape might have an adverse impact on the number of books she sells.
Of course, one could apply the rubric that whatever she wrote is mostly likely a lie or engineered to shine the best light on her. Many already apply that rubric whenever she opens her mouth.
So, yes, Carrie Prejean has a book out. Not that you would know it from the internet or the talk shows, but indeed she does. Still Standing: The Untold Story of My Fight Against Gossip, Hate, and Political Attacks hit the book stores on November 9. Amazon.com offered the book during pre-sale with like-minded Sarah Palin’s autobiographical Going Rogue: An American Life. Not a bad idea, since Sarah Palin’s book went No. 1 (and still is) while Prejean’s “autobiography” of how she’s been mistreated by others isn’t even in the Amazon Top 100.
Could her credibility already be that bad?
Still, most won’t read the book when they can see the movie sex tape video anyway…
Perhaps Carrie Prejean can generate more interest in the book if she made available a copy of the sex tape with the sale of each book. From the looks of things, she could embark on an entire series…
