The roller coasters won’t be operating and the water park will be closed due to the colder weather of the holidays at Hershey Park, in Hershey, Pennsylvania. However, the park has reduced their admission price to $10.95 to compensate. The amusement park is still offering more than thirty rides over the holidays. The zoo and Chocolate World are also open. In addition Hershey Park offers a light show, a holiday light display, shows and strolling entertainment for the whole family.
Hershey Pak offers two different options for holiday light lovers. The first option is N.O.E.L. or night of extraordinary lights. The night of extraordinary lights is described as “a light show featuring over 125,000 dancing lights synchronized to your favorite toe-tapping, jingle-rocking Christmas music.” There are three shows nightly starting at 5, 6:30 and 8 PM. The second option is sweet lights. Hershey Sweets Lights costs $20 a car load. (Prices for other vehicles available on their website) Sweet Lights allow you to “enjoy nearly 600 illuminated, animated displays from the comfort of your car as you drive through two miles of wooded trails.”
Hershey Park also offers special holiday shows during the holiday season. There is the “Home Sweet Home For Christmas” performed at the Chevrolet Music Theatre. There is “Sweet Treat Storytime” geared for children 8 and under. Hershey Park also has “Christmas Candylane Storytime” for children and the young at heart. There are also “The Mistle-Tones” brass band strolls through the park playing their holiday songs. The Heshey Park characters also stroll the park giving guests plenty of photo opportunities. Just in time for winter Hershey Park has a special sled dogs presentation as well.
Animal lovers who want to see more animals beside the sled dogs may want to visit ZooAmerica. The zoo is free with a Hershey Park admission or the cost is $9 per person. ZooAmerica is an “11-acre walk-through zoo” which “is home to 200+ animals representing five regions of North America.”
Hershey’s Chocolate World has free admission and is located right at Hershey Park. Here you can take the Hershey Chocolate Tour Ride and learn about chocolate. At the end of the ride there are free samples for your sweet tooth. While you are there you can watch “Hershey’s Really Big 3D Show” for a cost of $5.95. Hershey’s Chocolate World also has restaurants to grab a meal. There are also shops so you can finish off your holiday shopping.
