A cobia is an odd fish in my opinion. They have a forked tail, they swim in the flats, but are caught most often in deeper water. They have the ability to get very large, and when I eat a cobia, it is always delicious. Cobia are found in most tropical and sub tropical oceans around the world, with the exception of the Pacific coastline of North and South America. Cobia fishing is very exciting and the best cobia fishermen like to sight fish for them. I have collected the top five cobia fishing videos published on YouTube, so, I encourage you to click back and enjoy some cobia fishing footage.

I like to begin each top five list with a short, close look at a fish. This 36 second cobia fishing video is a perfect example of a large cobia caught with a live herring on a jig. Apparently, the fishermen in this video saw the fish a couple of times before getting the chance to make a shot. I enjoy how excited they get at such a cool, big cobia.
4) “70 lb Cobia 50 lb Kid”

This is a pretty incredible cobia fishing video right here. Shot from the captain’s seat high on the tower, success as a massive cobia eases into focus and a quick gaff shot brings him into the boat. This outing in North Carolina lives its title with an excited boat after a great day fishing. If you look closely, you can see the white jig bouncing around in the face of this really big cobia.
3) “big cobia”
published in 2007 by RustyGaffer
I like fishing videos to be short and sweet. This cobia fishing video is 47 seconds of nothing but cobia. It starts with the fish at the end of its fight, close to the boat with the gaff man in place. The camera closely follows as a swift motion the gaff finds its mark and a fine cobia is lifted into the boat.
2) “Deadfish Charters 104 lb Cobia that did not get away”

This particular cobia fishing video cracks me up. It is clear from the beginning that the fishermen featured here are all friends. The reel that is used to land this huge cobia painfully squeaks under the pressure of the fight. The fish is big enough to make you wonder if it the captain can lift it into the boat. Cheers and big fish on ice by the end of this great cobia fishing video
1) “Cobia Fishing”
published in 2007 by AddictiveFishing
The reason I chose this cobia fishing video to be number one is because of the complete footage. Capt. Blair Wiggins posts this “Addictive Fishing” episode on YouTube. This particular cobia is filmed before the catch in the shallow flats swimming with a ray. Capt. Blair finds a way to sneak a bite of food into the path of the fish, and it’s fish on!
