Did you hear the one about alleged funny man Dane Cook not being funny at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards Sunday (aired Monday on Fox), using the Vanessa Hudgens “leaked” naked photo scandal as his lead in? That’s alright; it wasn’t funny at all. Alleged comedian Dane Cook, raising the subject of Vanessa Hudgens’ latest “leaked” naked photo scandal when he went on stage at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards, decided to have a little fun at the expense of the “High School Musical” starlet and her latest series of pictures. And Vanessa Hudgens did not seem all that amused at Dane Cook’s “joking” around about her leaked photo scandal. Of course, if Dane Cook had been funny, well…
Vanessa Hudgen’s latest leaked naked picture scandal hit the internet last week but, instead of an apology like the one she issued to her fans in the 2007 leaked photo scandal, she fought back. Stating that the photos in question, shown on Perez Hilton and other celebrity gossip sites, was taken of her at a younger age than those that made the rounds in 2007, Vanessa Hudgens, via her attorneys, stated that she would seek legal action against those who posted her underaged naked likeness.
Dane Cook, at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards to present the Choice Hottie awards, paused for a moment before announcing the awards, among whose nominees included the attractive 20-year-old star embroiled in the naked picture scandal. He said, “Before I do the Choice Hotties, can I just say what everybody in the room is thinking but nobody has said?”
Dane Cook then scanned the audience and Vanessa Hudgens raised a hesitant hand, looking every bit as if she was anticipating being slapped. Sensing his moment, Cook pounced, “Girl, you gots to keep your clothes on! Phones are for phone calls, girl.”
As stated, the uncomfortable Vanessa Hudgens did not seem to be amused at Dane Cook’s little aside.
Dane Cook went on to announce Megan Fox, who just recently had some “leaked” photos of her own, and Robert Pattinson as the winners of the Choice Hotties.
But in Vanessa Hudgens’ defense, it must be said that Dane Cook may be the most un-amusing comedian (other than “Last Comic Standing” Dat Phan) working today making money doing stand-up. He’s a decent actor and a passable story-teller, but he hasn’t told a really funny joke since his mother told him how funny he was as a child. His shot at Vanessa Hudgens could have been a very funny moment.
But it wasn’t.
Dane Cook might not be very funny, but Dane Cook is right. Keeping one’s clothes on (whether that “one” might be Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Greene, Miley Cyrus, Adrienne Bailon, or whoever) would indeed keep one out of a naked picture scandal. And then one wouldn’t have to suffer an unamusing comedian sniping at one from the stage at the Teen Choice Awards.
And why didn’t Dane Cook mention Ashley Greene’s naked picture scandal?
