Darlene Haynes’ murder latest in disturbing trend of murder and baby snatching
Just last month, the AP reported on death of 21-year-old Heather Snively. Ms. Snively was a pregnant woman new to Oregon when she was allegedly killed by 27-year-old Korena Roberts. Roberts is believed to have cut Ms. Snively’s infant out of her womb and then at some point called for EMS because the infant wasn’t breathing. It was later determined that Roberts had not given birth and a search was conducted to find the mother of the child. Heather Snively’s body was crudely deposited in a crawl space under a home. The male infant was unable to be revived.
Araceli Comacho Gomez murdered, fetus stolen
One year ago, I wrote on the story of Araceli Camacho Gomez, who was murdered by Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong. The Kennewick, Washington murder made national headlines as it came to light that Syshavong called 911 and tried to pass the baby off as her own. She’d told friends that she was pregnant, but did not appear so. Further incriminating Synhavong was a box cutter and yarn tied to the murder of Gomez. Ms. Gomez’ child survived, though it spent more than a month in the hospital.
One year ago: Kia Johnson murdered in PA, fetus cut from womb
It was last July when Kia Johnson, an 18-year-old, who was 36 weeks pregnant in Pennsylvania, was killed. Ms. Johnson was found murdered in her apartment with her stomach cut and her baby missing. Andrea Curry-Demus was ultimately charged with the horrific crime. Kia Johnson’s son survived the unconventional birth and recently celebrated his one year birthday. The child is currently being raised by Kia Johnson’s father. Unfortunately for Kia, the woman charged with murdering her and taking the baby from her womb has attacked a pregnant women in the past in an attempt to steal their baby and even went so far as to kidnap a baby from a hospital.
