Do you have psychic abilities? I believe we all have psychic abilities to a varying extent.
Have you ever exercised what is known as woman’s intuition or parent’s intuition?
Have you ever taken a multiple-choice test and felt certain the answer was B? Then you second -guessed yourself and changed the answer. Later, what was the only one you missed? That one!
Have you ever thought of somebody you hadn’t thought of for years? Suddenly, you run into that person or receive a call from or about that person?
Have you ever got the strong hunch to call somebody? I remember one instance in particular. I got the hunch to call my maternal grandmother on a Friday. I was rather busy and decided to wait until Monday when I would have more time to talk. She died on Saturday. I always regretted that I did not follow through on that hunch.
Have you ever been driving down the road and had the strong hunch to slow down? Suddenly, you see a police car who could have caught you speeding if you had not listened to that gut feeling. Or perhaps you got the hunch to speed up or change lanes. Then you see something that lets you know that if you had not done so, you would have been part of a multi-car pile-up or a wreck of some kind.
Have you ever been walking down the street and suddenly got a hunch to walk to the other side of the street or turn into a store or speed up your walking speed? Have you ever met somebody and instantly liked them or instantly mistrusted them – not based on anything in particular other than your gut feeling?
Gavin DeBecker discusses some of those intuitive experiences in a book he calls “The Gift of Fear.” He talks about that our gut or that Fight or Flight feeling alerts us when danger is looming. If we follow through on these intuitions, we avert danger or keep safe in spite of adverse conditions. It is when we ignore those gut feelings that we have cause to feel regret.
Have you ever known of a child who talks about having invisible friends? They may not be invisible to them. Watch young children, dogs, and cats suddenly look directly at something that we cannot see. They say that dogs and cats can see spirits. I believe many young children can see spirits as well – until it gets socialized out of them.
In the 2004 movie “What the Bleep Do We Know!?,” they show a scene where an Indian Shaman and his tribe were not able to see the three ships of Christopher Columbus for a couple of days as it was outside the realm of their experience. With great effort, the shaman was finally able to see the ships. Trusting him, his tribe eventually was able to see them as well.
Have you ever taken a photograph or viewed a photograph taken of ordinary people or scenes and seen orbs of light or translucent people in the background of the picture once it was developed? How do we know that when a stranger appears at the perfect time to show us the way when we’re lost or to help us in times of danger, that we are not actually seeing an angel or ghost or deceased loved one or agent of God making an appearance to help us in our time of need?
Perhaps you are writing a story or speech or working on a painting or some other creative venture. Have you suddenly felt inspired and the words simply flowed or the brush almost seemed to move you rather than the other way around? It all feels effortless. Later, you read the story or view the artwork and it appears inspired. You find yourself saying, “That is really good! How could that have come from me?” Perhaps it did not really come from you. Perhaps it came from spirits from the other side.
Have you ever been troubled about some problem? You long to find an answer. Suddenly, a book falls off a shelf or you feel inspired to turn on the television and hear the answer coming from an actor or talk show host or guest or you feel inspired to open a Bible to a certain location or someone walks up to you and says certain words that sound like the answer to your question. You might state, “What a coincidence.” In my opinion, there is no such thing as coincidences. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. We may not understand that reason for many days, weeks, months, or years. Eventually, you may realize that God orchestrated things in such a way that you could receive the exact guidance that you needed at the perfect time.
So many people try to rationalize away those odd rather unexplainable happenings. If you remain vigilant, you may realize that there is so much more to this world than we know.
All these experiences and more are signs that you do indeed possess some level of psychic abilities.
In 1984, I spent a lot of time reading books categorized as New Age. I read one in particular by Sanaya Roman called “Opening to Channel.” I longed to be able to do this. In a closet, I found an old Ouija board that my father had bought years ago on a whim. I took it home and tried it out. As far as I knew, nobody else entertained these proclivities or desires in the small town where I spent most of my growing up years. The area was largely considered to be a Baptist Bible Belt. People, as far as I knew, simply did not discuss things having to do with psychics and channeling and New Age.
One evening, I set up the Ouija board. It did not come with any instructions. There was simply a board and a little piece with a viewing window called a planchette. According to the picture, each person is supposed to lightly place their fingers on this planchette and allow it to move where it will across a board that has all 26 letters, the numbers 0-9, the words yes and no, and the word good-bye. I had a pad of paper nearby and a pen. As lightly as I could, I placed my fingers on the planchette. I could indeed feel a force moving the planchette. At times, the planchette shot all over the board; however, I never could get any of the letters to form words. I was simply getting nonsense words instead.
I was just about to give up when suddenly I felt an electrical force enter my right hand that shot all the way up to my shoulder. What did it feel like? When I was eight, I had climbed up a short ladder in our basement so I could try to pull out a plug. I accidentally placed my fingers on the prongs. An electrical charge ran up my arm, causing me to fall backward off the ladder. It was somewhat painful; however, it frightened me more than it hurt. That was a very similar feeling.
I allowed my arm to totally relax. I felt a force move my hand over to the pad of paper. I picked up the pen and allowed my hand to begin to write. At that time, I mostly printed and hardly ever did cursive writing. Cursive writing was something that I was not very good at. I asked the question, “Is somebody there?” My hand wrote, “Yes.” I asked the spirit to identify itself. It provided me with a name. I proceeded to ask it all kinds of questions. I noticed that it wrote using small cursive letters dissimilar to any way I had ever written before. It was not my normal handwriting. The whole time it wrote through me, I felt a strong tingling in that right hand.
I was fascinated and excited. I called my dear friend in California. He asked the spirit several questions as well. This process of writing is called automatic writing. I spent many evenings channeling in that way.
As for the Ouija board, I returned it. I never bothered with using one again.
In case you’re curious, I found some on-line Ouija boards you can try out for free on the web. Check the resource section.
I am not recommending Ouija boards as the way to go. I think there is a real danger involved to vulnerable people with low self-esteems. There are a lot of wonderful spirits out there. There are also darker spirits who are bored. Those dark spirits would like nothing more than to mess with the minds of unwary people. In other words, use an Ouija board with caution.
Ever since that night in 1984, I have done channeling in a variety of ways. I’ve done automatic writing with either pen and paper or computer screen and keyboard. I have allowed spirits and angels to talk through me as I often can hear the word a split second before it appears on paper.
The spirits and angels I channel I call “My Team.” I found out early on that I could not use them like a silver ball. I do not attempt to get them to predict the future since the future is not written in stone. It is dynamic rather than static. Because God has granted us free will, the future can fluctuate as a result of each move that we make.
I used to visit psychics to ask futuristic-type questions. I don’t bother anymore. They could tune into my current vibrations and predict my future. Five minutes later, I could come to a crossroad in my life, figuratively speaking, that totally changed what they predicted. As a result, their reading would no longer apply.
There are some psychics who will try to tell you that this is not true. They are either totally convinced that what they predict will absolutely come true no matter what or they want us to believe that this is the case in spite of their level of conviction.
It is up for debate whether I am right or those psychics are right. What do you think? Trust your gut as to the true answer. I am simply telling you my truth as taught to me by my team of spirit guides and angels.
I strongly suggest that you take whatever any psychic tells you with a grain of salt. If it feels true at a gut level, then run with it. If it feels debatable, than disregard their reading. Always, always trust your gut.
Like Albert Einstein says, we use less than 10% of our brainpower. That other 90% that we rarely tap into will alert you to the veracity of anybody’s words. You are your own master teacher.
So if I don’t use my team of spirit guides and angels to predict the future, what do I use them for? I use them to provide me guidance about the path I take. I take their words like I would take advice from a dear friend. I take their words into consideration; however, I still trust my gut as to what extent I will take their advice. I use them to keep me safe as I drive or travel. I use them to request healing. I use them to help me bring through stories about conflict resolution and bullying and other topics. My team of spirit guides and angels have helped me in numerous ways that have truly enhanced and blessed my life.
How do you channel? There are many wonderful books out there including the one I read by Sanaya Roman. In short, get a pad and smooth-writing pen. Place your hand over the paper in a writing position. Relax your hand. Say a prayer of protection that you only bring through spirits, deceased people, and angels from the light. Please do not allow yourself to entertain dark spirits. Then allow your hand to write, should you have the impulse to move your hand. It takes practice. Eventually, it may come as naturally as breathing.
In 1993, 1997 and 1998, I took some channeling classes, a couple of Reiki healing classes and also took a number of courses at a New Age University called Delphi University in McCaysville, Georgia. If you wish to develop your own psychic abilities, there are many wonderful resources available: websites, books, workshops, and classes. Have fun exploring!
How do you know you are bringing through spirit guides and angels from the light rather than darker spirits? Their guidance should feel warm and comforting and inspired. Light spirits and angels will never issue orders. They will not try to make you feel fearful in any way. If you feel fear or guilt or any kind of negative feelings as a result of what they tell you, you are not dealing with spirit guides and angels from God. In that case, firmly tell them to go away. Spirit guides and angels from God love you unconditionally and will only seek to provide guidance and help bless your life. They respect your right to use your free will. They do not have ego about what they tell you. In my case, it is very comforting to always know that my best friends in the world are always available to me 24/7. I hope you enjoy connecting with your spirit guides and angels. It is truly a very exciting and rewarding adventure.
