E.L.F. Liquid Eye Shadow Review

by sawpan

The world of cosmetics is forever changing and evolving with the needs of women. One of my favorite cosmetic brands, E.L.F. or eyeslipsface, recently came out with a liquid eyeshadow that is to die for, or at least that was my first thought of it based on sheer impression alone. I had to see if it would work as well as it looked and how it would hold up against cream, powder and mineral eye shadows so I bought myself a couple in different colors to try out. I don’t like to judge a product based on one try so I gave this one a good effort and several chances before judging it.

I’ll start off with the pros based on my experience for E.L.F’s Liquid eye shadow. The first thing I found appealing about this product was definitely the packaging. The liquid eye shadow came in a lip gloss like tube with a lip gloss applicator. It comes in eight colors so far but those eight colors are strong colors. I really liked that this liquid eye shadow is selling for only one dollar a piece and doesn’t test on animals, always a plus with me. I found that because it uses a felt tip, lip gloss-like brush for application that it was much easier to use and mess free. The packaging no doubt makes it very portable. I could throw it in my purse or stick it into a small clutch without worrying about any leakage or mess. The best part, in my opinion, is that it doesn’t crease. Finding an eye shadow that doesn’t crease is insanely difficult but to find one that is liquid and doesn’t crease is amazing.

Now for the cons of E.L.F’s Liquid eye shadow. This product is still fairly new and trying to find it in stores can be difficult, the best way to get your hands on this product is to order it. My problem with ordering E.L.F. products in general is the cost of shipping, which is about $7. I didn’t like that it went on thin and that I had to apply several coats to get it darker and more even. It goes on very wet and I had to wait until it was dry before I could move my eyelids. When it dried I found that it felt heavy and made my eyelids feel kind of tight. A big let down for me was that it started wearing off after a few hours and looked patchy. I thought that this eye shadow would work great as a base but it didn’t. Powder shadow doesn’t seem to stick to it very well.

All in all I was very disappointed in E.L.F’s Liquid eye shadow. I thought the concept was great but the result was a failure. This product needs some serious improvements before I would consider buying it again. I would not recommend this product to anyone no matter how cheap it is.
