You will need silver and gold foil, cardboard, glue, ribbon, scissors, and a popsicle stick for this project. Making a gelt garland is a bright and festive way to decorate your home for Hanukkah, and you can hang your garland wherever you like.

Start by cutting circles out of the cardboard, and cut 2 pieces of foil slightly bigger than the circle. Glue the cardboard circles about 2 inches apart along the length of the ribbon. When the cardboard has dried apply some glue to the foil and wrap the foil around the coin. Use the stick to removes bubbles, and to add any details to your coins that you will like. When this gleaming homemade garland is dry you can hang it in a window, drape it on a counter, or hang it over a doorway.

Stained Glass Candle Window Hanging

Hanukkah is the Festival of Lights, and candles are an important symbol during this holiday; making a stained glass candle window hanging is easy and inexpensive. You will need orange tissue paper, blue tissue paper, black construction paper, scissors, a pencil, ribbon, and glue for this inexpensive and easy homemade Hanukkah decoration.

Start by drawing a candle and flame on to the middle of the black paper. Hold two pieces together with the picture on top, and fold them in half lightly. Use the scissors to cut the image out, and remember to leave some paper in between the flame and the candle.

Cut a square of orange tissue paper slightly bigger than the flame and glue it to one of the pieces of black paper. Cut a blue piece slightly bigger than the candle and glue this piece as well. Next tie the ribbon into a loop and glue it to the top of the piece of paper, and glue the other paper to the back of the first piece. When attaching your final black piece of paper remember you want all the rough edges on the inside. When this homemade inexpensive Hanukkah decoration has dried you can hang it easily in the window.

Gelt and Driedel Potpourri Table Decoration

An inexpensive and festive table decoration for your home during Hanukkah is a gelt and dreidel potpourri table platter. For this homemade decoration you will need foil wrapped chocolate gelt, potpourri, a pretty plate, plastic dreidels that have removable tops, and votive candles. You can probably find all of these items at your local dollar store.

Open up the driedels and place pieces of gelt and potpourri inside of them. Arrange them on the plate with the votives. Sprinkle some more potpourris around the plate, and add some more gelt. This inexpensive homemade Hanukkah decoration looks great on any table, and it is easy and fun to make
