My family and I stayed there in July 2009. We wanted a location that would be convenient to a meeting I had the next day. Because we were not familiar with the city we also wanted a motel that we could find. The EconoLodge listed above suited our needs well.
The EconoLodge in Kalispell, Montana is right on Highway 93 South. There is easy access into the large parking lot. Traveling in any direction was convenient from the highway. All motel rooms open from the outside here. Despite this, we felt relatively secure in our second floor room.
A lounge is located on the EconoLodge property. The motel is also close enough to several restaurants that you can just walk right over. The motel also says it is close to Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, Majestic Valley Arena and other local attractions.
We made our reservations in advance through the Choice Hotels website. One of the reasons that I do this is because of iGive. It is an online shopping portal that lets you donate a tiny percentage of your motel stay to charity through cause shopping. (More about that is on this link.)
When we arrived at the EconoLodge in Kalispell, Montana the desk clerk was friendly. In just a moment we were checked in, told about the breakfast and the internet and given the keys. A moment later we were pulling around to our room and looking for the stairs.
We were pleased with the inside of the room. There was enough space to put our things without feeling too crowed. The room had 2 beds, a desk and chair, large television set, and a closet area. The EconoLodge looked to be an older motel but the room was clean and fully stocked with towels, soap and the usual necessities. The hair dryer worked and so did all of the outlets that we tried.
In the morning we slept later than we had planned and missed the complimentary continental breakfast at the EconoLodge. (Darn those comfortable beds!)
While we took turns enjoying the great shower I was able to catch up on some of my email. The EconoLodge had a steady wireless connection. Although we had a low signal strength in our room I was able to stay online without getting bumped off. Since I wasn’t uploading videos or downloading a movie the signal strength wasn’t a problem.
When we did finally get to the front desk a different clerk was on duty. This one was just as friendly and as efficient as the person who checked us in. We chatted for a minute about what we were going to see and were given correct directions on how to find the local Wal-Mart.
We paid about $60 plus tax at the AAA discounted rate. Points for the stay at the EconoLodge in Kalispell were credited on our Choice Privileges reward program.
The EconoLodge in Kalispell also offers senior citizens, government and military discounts. The property is not deluxe but it is pet friendly. There is an additional charge of $10 per night. Pets must be 50 pounds and under. There is a 2 pet limit per room.
