Excessive Underarm Sweating – Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate

by sawpan

One of the very first options for excessive underarm sweating is a topical prescription treatment called Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate. Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate is a salt substance used especially for those with severe perspiration. The salt substance is well known for its ability to impede the excretion of sweat from the sweat glands. Every two to three days a week, reapplication is necessary to maintain its effectiveness in blocking sweat glands. The following are some side effects and guidelines when using this form of treatment to stop excessive underarm sweating.

Side Effects

There are some very minor to extreme side effects reported as a result of using Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate to control severe sweating cases. Studies show temporary side effects such as irritation and stinging of the area where the solution was applied. This should not be a great concern unless the skin becomes extremely irritated. Other side effects are skin rashes, and swelling of the skin, lips or tongue. Harmful chemical effects to clothing such as staining may also occur.

Guidelines

Discuss with your doctor to see if Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate is the best choice for your excessive underarem sweating. If you are or might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding it is especially important to let your doctor know.

Follow the following guidelines for best results:

1.Before applying the medication check to make sure your underarm is dry and that there is no skin breakage.

2.It is best to avoid using the prescription immediately after shaving to avoid irritation. Wait 24-48 hours before applying.

3.Do not apply more than what was recommended by the doctor (spread a very thin layer).

4.The best time to use Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate is at night because your body produces less underarm sweat.

5.After applying, wait for the product to dry on the skin. To ensure the medication is dry, use a blow dryer on the cool setting to dry the medicated area and leave it on for 6-8 hours.

6.Wear garments such as an old T-shirt or gown that you do not need to prevent damage to your good clothing.

7.Remove the medication in the morning by cleansing the area thoroughly, and towel dry. Do not use any other antiperspirants while using aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate.

Continue with this process 2 to 3 times per week until a significant change is observed. Once this occurs you will not have to apply it as often.

Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate is one of the first choices doctors use when treating those who suffer from excessive underarm sweating. This treatment is a prescription drug and should be used with caution. Be aware of the side effects as well as the guidelines when applying this medication to acquire maximum results.
