Interior design trends coming in fall of 2009 will change the way everyone looks at decorating their home. From furniture to paint, you can count on interesting and fun new ways to put a room together.
Here is a look at some of the interior design trends for the coming fall:
Paint – Benjamin Moore has come out with the interior design paint colors for 2009. This year’s colors will be based on three possibilities. Raw, urban silence and simplexity are the three areas that will be drawn from. The raw are basic colors, but basic doesn’t mean boring. These new colors are certainly different. The same can be said for the other two more complex ideas. Some of the colors include steel wool, rustic taupe and majestic violet. These are only three of then many colors coming out for fall painting.
Furniture – Metropolitan Home has listed six furniture trends for the fall of 2009. They include glamour, metallic leather, pleats, statement dining tables, small space solutions and green and gorgeous. Chairs and sofas will have a curvy appeal to them. Furniture, such as dining tables will be practical yet sizeable. “Green” furniture is all the rage as our world becomes more environmentally friendly. Upholstery will give you pleats. Metallic leather will be seen quite often as well. Space saving furniture will be the rage for those with small spaces to decorate.
Carpeting – Berber carpet is still a very popular type of carpeting for it’s ease of care. Dirt doesn’t get extremely embedded in these carpets as it did in the shag carpets of the 1970’s era. Berber carpet is changing the way it looks though. Stainmaster carpets says that the Berber will have much more texture to them this year. They will also be adding more color to them. The plain carpets of yesterday will be gone as floors become more than just a place to walk, it will become an integral part of the interior design.
Mix and Match – This styling can be anything from furniture to wall décor. Everyone has different tastes. In 2009, mixing different styles of furniture, wall art and other home décor will be perfectly acceptable. It allows each of us to have completely unique living quarters that shows our personality.
Wall Décor – More people will gravitate to one of a kind art. Mass production is a great thing, but people are going back to the originals. Finding a piece of art that suits your tastes and is the only one of its kind is what most people will be searching for this fall.
Don’t be afraid to join in on these fun design opportunities. You can be as unique as you want to be. Your home should reflect your personality and this years trends allow you to do that more than ever before.
