Massachusetts farmer Bob Connors has bestowed a great honor upon the long-running animated comedy series “Family Guy” by creating a “Family Guy” corn maze featuring two of the series’ main characters, Stewie and Brian. According to The Boston Globe, Fox (the network behind “Family Guy”) waived the rights and thus cleared the way for Connors to build his “Family Guy” corn maze. To fans of the series, the “Family Guy” corn maze is nothing short of a field of dreams.
The Family Guy corn maze is just one example of how “Family Guy” has been honored, and, well, promoted. For instance, fans can purchase a Glenn Quagmire bobblehead. Quagmire is a neighbor of the Griffins and he is something of a sexual pervert. According to Wikipedia, “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane describes Quagmire as “an appalling human being who is still caught in the rat-pack era.” And Peter Griffin (a central character), believes that Quagmire is a “heartless sex hound.”
Fans can also buy a Stewie football – along with Stewie T-shirts, baseball caps, posters clocks and much, much more. Wikipedia aptly describes Stewie as a “merchandising icon.” (As mentioned above, Stewie is one of the “Family Guy” characters featured in the “Family Guy” corn maze.) Stewie Griffin is the youngest child of the aforementioned Peter Griffin and his lovely wife Lois Griffin. He is hilariously irascible, and clearly one of the most popular characters on the show.
One of the more interesting pieces of “Family Guy” merchandise to hit the market is the Lois and Peter nighttime bondage action figures. According to Super Hero Toys, the Lois and Peter bondage figures come with “character-specific accessories, and multiple points of articulation.” One has to assume that this toy is definitely not for children.
But the “Family Guy” corn maze is certainly kid friendly. And according to the Boston Globe, series creator Seth MacFarlane has family members who live not too far from the Connors Family Farm. Bob Connors hopes Seth MacFarlane (who voices both Stewie and Brian) will stop by and visit the “Family Guy” corn maze.
He would also love for MacFarlane to do the voices on a “busy weekend.” Now that’s something that kids – and all fans of the show – would love to see.
Bob Connors has built his “Family Guy” corn maze – his field of dreams. Now the question is, Will Seth MacFarlane come?
