Finding Love on Facebook

by sawpan

We all watch the commercials for Match.com and all of those other relationship sites, but one that hasn’t been advertised for hooking up with somebody else is Facebook. A lot of people think that those who hit each other up on sites like Myspace or Facebook are just looking for a booty call, but when it came to Kelly HIldenbrandt and Kelly Hildenbrandt, it was a lot more than just a booty call. In fact, they weren’t even looking for love until it happened to them because they happened to have the same exact, unusual name.

Kelly Hildebrandt, 20, logged into Facebook in April of 2008 and found a man with the same exact name as her. He lived in Texas, as she lived in Florida, but she still decided to send him a message. She e-mailed him saying, “We have the same name. Thought that was cool.” Kelly HIldebrandt, 25, read the message and replied back to her, “Pretty cool. What’s life like in Florida?” After that general question, they started talking almost every day and even started talking on the phone. Finally they met up in Ft. Lauderdale in Florida, and made a commitment to make a long distance relations work between them. Finally, in December, he proposed on the beach to her.

Through the time of the engagment, she did a thorough family tree check to make sure that they weren’t somehow related. After finding out that they weren’t in any way related, on October 11th, 2009 they wed in front of one hundred guests. There were a lot of HIldebrandts on both sides watching these two get married on a chance meeting and a very short relationship. Their wedding favors had a little ribbon on them that said Kelly and Kelly.

On other coinsidences and good things about their names being the same, is that she didn’t have to do any legal documents to change her last name to his such as her driver license’s and social security. One bad thing is that on oen of their plane tickets, they almost got canceled because the airline thought that he had double booked himself.

They both still have a Facebook and changed their relationship stuses to read: “Kelly Hildebrandt is married to Kelly HIldebrandt.” They also both now live in Florida. Not only have they found true love through a unique and great way, but they have also made fans around the world. Fans that want to find a love like theirs, and that think the way they found each other is truly signifcant. They had to make their Facebook private because so many wanted to add them after reading their story in magazines around the world.
