Every time you go and get your nails done, your probably sitting there while the Korean lady files your nails thinking, “this is so easy why couldn’t I just have done this at home?” So then after a few days, the nail polish starts to chip (( Unless your like me and hit your wet nails on everything, than it will probably start to chip the very next day )), and you decide that it’s time to repaint your nails. So you follow exactly what you saw them do, and yet you have more nail polish on one finger nail rather than just the one streak on the other, and those damn hang nails just won’t go away. Here is a few tips for you to getting a professional looking manicure at home.
Make sure that you have tools that they use. As in nail clippers, nail filer, cuticle clippers and top and base nail polish. These are the key things in making sure that your nail polish stays on and that your nails look as clean as possible. And if you can get cuticle oil or lotion to put on when doing the cuticles, this will help trim them up better.
Clip your nails so that they are shorter, but not too short so that you couldn’t file them. Then, file them by starting on one side and brushing it to the middle, and then doing the same to the opposite side. It’s never good to see saw with the nail filer. If you want round nails, go up and around, if you want square than just do it straight across but make sure that the ends aren’t too sharp.
Push the cuticles back, and then trim the dead cuticles that are sticking out. Also make sure to get the hangnails that are poking out to say hello. Before you do this though, make sure to put either lotion or cuticle oil on them so that their not dry and rough.
Then put the base coat on your nails, leave it on for about a minute, and then apply the nail polish color that you want to use. Start by making one streak right in the middle, that starts a little bit above the cuticle and then in that same exact spot make another streak going to the right, and same with the left. After that dries, put on the top coat and let it sit for about five to ten minutes before doing anything that requires your hands.Make sure that you clean up any nail polish that got somewhere else on your fingers or on your hands because believe it or not that will completely take away from the nail polish on your fingers and it will look tacky. And it’s always best to clean under neath the nail at any point of time, because even though it’s not straight on top, it will still show especially if you have clear nail polish on.
