How to Make Halloween Treat Bags – Materials

To make scary Halloween treat bags, you will need to following materials: clear plastic size large gloves, your choice of red or orange candies, popcorn, black and orange ribbon, and plastic spider rings, and a pair of scissors. For the candy, it should be small in size, and have Halloween colors. Great choices for this project are candy corn, red and orange M&Ms, or hot tamales.

How to Make Halloween Treat Bags – Step One

Begin by placing a piece of the red or orange candy into each finger slot of the plastic glove. This will be used as the fingernails. Use either two pieces of candy corn, two hot tamales, or four orange or red M&M’s. Avoid using candies that will break or mush together easily as there will be some pressure on the candies.

Next, fill up the rest of the plastic glove will popcorn. The popcorn should be unbuttered to avoid making the bag smudgy and messy. Using simple plain popcorn or lightly salted popcorn will work best. Fill up the glove until it’s almost full, leaving a small space at the top in order to tie.

Take the ends of both the orange and black ribbon and place them together. Pull out about 6 inches of each and cut the ends so you have matching black and orange ribbon lengths. While still together, wrap the ribbons around the top of the plastic glove and tie them into a not tightly. Next, you can either curl the ribbon using the edge of a pair of scissors, or you can tie them into a bow, or just leave them dangling.

Finally, you will be using the spider rings on your project. Most Halloween supply shops sell spider rings in both black and orange. The colors you use are up to you but should resemble Halloween colors. Place a spider ring on the finger of the plastic glove. You can add another if you want or add a ring to each finger. It’s your choice.
