During any season it is important, but the most important season to take precaution is in the winter, weather it be keeping yourself from getting the flu or getting in an accident.
Get shot or pack some medicine
This is extremely important, especially for people with bad immune systems. You always want to make sure that you don’t get sick, but you always have to have some sort of medication that will fight it off if you do catch a cold. It is always important to make sure you get a shot or some medicine even if you are traveling by air, sea, or land. Many airports and train stations have people that are sick, and a lot of people don’t care who gets sick, people need to learn to sneeze in their arm and use any sort of hand sanitizer to keep other people from getting sick or worse.
Get some rest and watch the weather channel
You should always get rest before making a long distance travel. Not getting the rest you need can be dangerous, you will get stressed, and too much stress can lower your immune system, which means, you have a higher probability of getting sick. People always need to keep an eye on the weather they are going to have to face. You always have to know what will be ahead of you, that way you can think of what you can do in a situation where there is going to be dangerous weather, like stay at a motel or leave earlier/later than expected. Once you arrive at your destination, get some more sleep, this will be good for your body.
Always pack emergency medical supplies
This is a must, in any case of travel, anybody can get hurt at any time and you must be ready for it. If you are traveling with a friend or family member, or even by yourself, get medical supplies because it will always come in handy whether you believe it or not.
Wear and pack warm clothing
Obviously, everybody knows this one, and this should not have to be explained. But, if your from the south and are visiting up north, well, you better get some warm clothes, it makes all the difference to pack twice as many socks as you would not normally pack.
Eat healthy
You must eat healthy for it will boost your immune system. Such as oats or mushrooms, anything high in beta-glucan, this will boost the strength of your immune system. Also, drink plenty of water, and eat some fruits too, when mucous membranes are moist, it will block viruses from your mouth, nose and eyes.
So, that said, for all you travelers out there who have to go towards the colder temperatures for holidays, work, or even an event, follow these guidelines. Doing all of these will reduce the risk of catching the flu and reduce the risk of anything harmful happening to you or your loved ones. On a side note, always bring hand sanitizer with you, this will also give you less of a chance of getting infected by a virus.
