All caring parents want to do everything within their power to encourage their babies to learn as much as they can from a very early age on. Some parents start before their child is even born by decorating the nursery with large letters from the alphabet or perhaps simple words. The extremes some parents will go to in order to teach their babies sometimes amaze me. While some seem odd, I would never discourage any attempt at giving your baby a head start in learning or doing anything to make your baby smart.
There are many people that believe if a mother listens to classical music while pregnant, the baby will be smarter or even possibly be gifted musically. While I personally have no proof to offer on whether such things work, I have raised an extremely intelligent child and he was also a very smart baby. I honestly believe that the attention I gave my child while he was very young, playing games and singing songs, helped to make him as intelligent as he is. Here are a few games I played with my son that I would suggest playing with a baby to make them smart.
This fun and simple game has been around for ages. It teaches children to trust and laugh with their parents. It’s a game that can be played from when a baby is as young as a few months old up until when they are a few years old. As simple as this game may seem, It’s the simplicity of it that helps babies to learn. They here the same key phrase of peekaboo I see you, over and over. At the same time, they are laughing and learning the meaning of the words. This wonderful game will get your baby giggling and learning to trust you and is sure to give you many smiles at the same time. Play it often with your baby.
This game is wonderful for so many reasons, A smart baby will love this game not only for it’s rhymes but also for the action involved. It’s a stimulating game that ends up tickling the baby over and over. You’ll be singing with your baby while helping them to develop motor skills. The more often you play the game, the more your baby will learn from it. You can start playing this game with your baby as soon as they’re able to sit up comfortably. Help them with their tiny hands. Teach them to clap and roll their hands in a circle. And at the very end let them tickle their own belly when you throw it in the pan. This game produces the same magical result of helping a baby to become very smart while giving parents many wonderful smiles.
Simon Says :
I put my own twist on this game with my son when he was a baby. Instead of saying Simon says, I would say Mommy says. My reasoning for this was simple. I didn’t want my child to grow up dreading when Mommy said something. Smart babies love this game because the challenges you can give them are limitless. Repeating tasks over and over that make the baby laugh will keep this game completely fun for them while teaching them to follow directions and to put whole sentences together. This is a game that very smart babies will enjoy as soon as they begin to mimic parents behaviors. My son adored this game for many years. I often had him do the silliest things, such as touching his nose while hopping on one foot. He turned out to be a fantastic athlete as well as being extremely smart.
I’m sure that many children are just naturally smart babies. I believe just as strongly that there are plenty of things parents and caregivers can do to nurture intelligence in babies. Playing games with your baby from a very young age on can prove to be priceless in encouraging them to have fun learning. Helping a baby to learn at the same time as making them laugh can make you feel you’ve truly achieved greatness. I don’t believe it’s ever too early to start when it comes to playing and laughing with your baby. Try all of these well known silly games and love every second of them with your baby.
