Walt Disney executive, Robert A. Iger, have come up with a great new musical tour idea of, High School Musical: The Ice Tour. Considering the success of previous High School Musical movies, this tour is definitely going to be a huge success. High School Musical is currently on tour of US & UK. But the disappointing thing is that most of the High School Musical on Ice websites showing “Sold Out!” boards over the counter.
The response from the fans is so great that High School Musical on Ice have to arrange for additional shows. Such amazing extravaganza on ice confines the magical experience of the two previous High School movies. The exciting idea of implementing the choreographic execution of ice skating has made this tour a success.
Walt Disney executive came up with this ice tour idea way before making High School Musical 2. Considering High School Musical 2 was successful in keeping the popularity of its predecessor; No doubt both the High School Musical on Ice & 3 will be rocking the Box-Office in up coming time. But there are some problems in casting, as Zac & Vanessa may look older for “high school kids” when they start shooting for High School Musical 3.
“But High School Musical on Ice must have been a great place for them as their age may freeze on ice”, just kidding. With this show, “High School” fans are appreciating the feel, the songs & the good messages, loving memories of previous movies & their beloved Disney characters. Another special thing is choreography is made different but more exciting by championship level & professional skaters, who are in the roles of Gabriella, Chad, Sharpay, Ryan & Troy, among others.
Choreographer of High School Musical on Ice, “Chucky” Charles Klapowin an interview, gave some ideas on highlights of some behind the scene stories. He said,
“My favorite segment of the story is that baseball number where Ryan & Chad have a face-off. It was fun but challenging thing to set a baseball scene on ice.
It was also the most difficult number to choreograph. We also did some manipulations in the original choreography to make it suitable for the skating version.
For me, choreographing for High School Musical on Ice was completely different than doing the movies. The basic difference being, when you are on the screen you have to focus only on one direction i.e. towards camera, but on ice, the skaters (cast) are surrounded by audience from 3 sides. & you can’t ignore a folk of audience by just showing your back for whole time. This was the most important thing for me during choreography. So I made it such that the cast faces crowd on each of 3 sides alternately.”
So in your opinion why High School Musical: The Ice Tour & Movies are such a great success?
Many reasons will come up, but most of us would give credit to the positive messages which are closely related to youth.
If you are looking amazing presentations combined with, fantastic ice choreography, great songs & happy faces, High School Musical on Ice is a must for you.
