How to Make Salmon Patties
1 Can Salmon
1 Sleeve of Saltine Crackers Crushed
½ of a Purple Onion Diced
Oil to Fry Patties
Open can of salmon and drain off the liquid. The bones and skin are edible. Bones are full of magnesium and calcium. Skin and bones can be taken out and discarded. Healthier choice is crushing the soft bones with a fork and mixing them in.
Mix together canned salmon, egg, crackers and onion. Form this mixture into 8 patties to eat them plain, 4 patties to fit on a bun.
Fry salmon patties on the stovetop. Until each side is brown. Roughly 4 minutes per side.
Salmon Patties – Variations
Minced garlic, diced green pepper, ½ a cup salsa and no egg, diced mushrooms, other seasoning or any other “heat and serve” vegetable diced small. Can be used in place of onion.
How to Serve Salmon Patties
Salmon patties can be served just the way they are.
With ketchup, tarter sauce or a favorite dipping sauce.
As a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, cheese and a condiment. The meal will be even healthier.
What to Serve With Salmon Patties
Seasoned potato wedges, fried potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, or other type of seasoned potato are good choices.
