Those Halloween candy bars look innocent enough- just one won’t hurt, right? But even the “fun size” Halloween candies pack plenty of fat and calories. And since most of us don’t stop at just one, the Halloween season often brings on a few unwanted pounds. Want to know how to burn off those Halloween candy calories? Here are some of the best ways to burn off Halloween candy calories.
Snickers (one fun size candy bar) – 72 calories. There are plenty of ways to burn off the 72 calories in a Snickers funs size candy bar. One of the fastest ways? Run for 8 minutes. Not a runner? Then go ahead and take a leisurely walk-for 19 minutes.
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Skittles or Twix bar (one fun size)- 80 calories. You’ll need to do a little more to burn off the chocolate peanut buttery goodness of a Reese’s. A 10 minute bicycle ride will do the trick. Ditto if you eat a fun size Twix bar or a fun size package of Skittles.
Nestles Crunch- (one fun size bar) – 70 calories. You enjoyed the crispy rice decadence, now what? Time to dance for 12 minutes-or do a 24 minute yoga session. Add another few minutes to your dance routine if you eat a Milky Way fun size bar, which has 75 calories.
Hershey’s Milk Chocolate (one fun size bar) – 70 calories. You can swim for 9 minutes to burn off the calories from a plain Hershey’s milk chocolate bar. If you eat two, swim for 18 minutes.
Candy corn (11 pieces)- 70 calories. Eleven pieces of candy corn go down quickly. Unfortunately, burning them off takes a little longer. 10 minutes of step aerobics will get rid of those candy corn calories.
Twizzlers or Sweet Tarts (treat size pack) or 1 Hershey’s Nugget- 50 calories. These tiny treats still have calories, but there are plenty of ways to burn them off. A 15 minute game of Frisbee or a 5 ½ minute round of tennis with a friend will get rid of the calories.
Tootsie Pop- 60 calories. A lollipop seems harmless enough, but even that innocent looking Tootsie Pop sneaks in quite a few calories. Granted, eating one takes a while, so you actually burn a few calories chewing down that hard-to-chew Tootsie roll center. But skip rope for 6 minutes to burn that Tootsie Pop off for good.
Payday, Almond Joy or Mt. Goodbar (fun size) – 90 calories. Make burning off these fun size bars a little more fun by dancing for 20 minutes to your favorite music.
Butterfinger or Kit Kat (snack size) -100 calories. It tasted good, but now you have to pay for it. Hop on the treadmill for a nice, brisk 15 minute walk to say goodbye to the unwanted calories from a Butterfinger or Kit Kat bar.
M&M’s (fun size)- 100 calories. You’ll need to rake leaves for 20 minutes or do 100 pushups to undo the damage from a fun size pack of plain M&M’s. And you’ll have to do nearly double the workout if you eat a pack of fun size Peanut M&M’s (180 calories).
Don’t feel like doing any of this? According to Howstuffworks.com, just sitting in front of the TV or computer burns off 72 calories! Just make sure you’re not sitting there with a bag of leftover Halloween candy!
