If you are getting ready to pop the question, you may want to use a banner. You can create your own “Will You Marry Me” banners in Microsoft Publisher. If you have this program and want to create this type of banner, follow along with me. In this tutorial, I will walk you through the steps of creating a “Will You Marry Me” banner. You can also customize this banner. Open your Microsoft Publisher program and let it load. Then we will get started with this tutorial.

Opening the Banner Template in Microsoft Publisher

The Banner Template link is located in the Publication Type panel. The Publication Type panel should be on the left side of your program. You will need to look for the Banners link and click it.

Selecting Your Banner Design in Microsoft Publisher

Now that you have the banner template open, you will need to select the design of the template. At the top of the middle panel, you will see some sub-categories. Look for the Romance category and click it. That will pull up the Marry Me banner. Click the banner to select it.

In the right panel, you will need to select the color scheme, font scheme, border option, page option, and where you want the graphic to appear on the banner. Then click the Create button to open the banner in a new window.

Customizing Your Marry Me Banner in Microsoft Publisher

Now that you have the banner open in a new window, you will need to customize it the way you want it. If you want to adjust the text or add someone’s name, click inside the text box. To add a name, type the name where you want it. To delete the text and type your own, highlight the text and press Delete on your keyboard. Then type what you want.

If you want to delete the heart graphics and add something else, you can. Click the heart graphics to select them. Then press the Delete key on your keyboard. Next, open the clipart gallery by clicking Insert > Picture > Clipart. Then do a search for the type of clipart you are looking for. If you are not sure what you are looking for, click the Go button and it will pull up all of the clipart.

When you find a graphic that you want to add to your banner, double click the graphic. Then move the graphic to where you want it. When you double click a graphic, it will be automatically placed in the middle of your banner, but you can click it with your mouse and move it to where you want it.

Once you are finished with the banner and have it the way you want it, save it and print it out.
