Joe Wilson’s war is one that could win him a lot of supporters, although it temporarily condemned him to Twitter hell. When President Obama was giving a speech to Congress about healthcare, Joe Wilson really made a name for himself by shouting out two little words: “You lie!” Many of us probably had never heard of this congressman from South Carolina before he blurted out this already-infamous phrase, but Joe Wilson has just earned himself a throne alongside Sarah Palin in the Kingdom of the Klan of Knuckleheads (catch all those K’s?). But I kid, I kid. In all seriousness, Joe Wilson isn’t racist; he’s just apparently convinced that illegal immigrants are going to get free healthcare under Barack Obama’s healthcare plan, and he’d rather that they die slow, painful deaths than to receive healthcare in our good, Jesus-loving country.
But, on the other hand, it may not just be Barack Obama’s assertion that the healthcare plan he was presenting did not cover illegal immigrants that set Joe Wilson off; it may be what Barack Obama was debunking before that caused the kettle to slowly start boiling before it blew it’s lid.
In case you didn’t know, Barack Obama is another Hitler hell-bent on his own holocaust. But while Hitler’s extreme hatred of the Jewish people led to a holocaust that is one of the ugliest scars in our history books, Barack Obama is apparently going to outdo Hitler with his own holocaust of the elderly. It is President Obama’s extreme hatred of those that would have the government stay out of their Medicare that is prompting the creation of “death panels” to eradicate the grandmas and grandpas of this country. Why do you think some wing nuts got so upset over the speech Barack Obama gave to school kids? He was just following Hitler, once again, by converting kids to his own line of thinking at a young age.
All of this started when Sarah Palin coined the term “death panels”. Eventually other Obama naysayers like Rush Limbaugh slowly but surely began to also see the light at the end of the tunnel that is free speech, realizing just how powerful the word “Nazi” can be. But what does all of this have to do with Joe Wilson? Well, Joe Wilson has agreed with Sarah Palin on the whole issue regarding “death panels”, and when the President spoke logically about something he believed in, he simply reacted the way many on the right are reacting these days, in a disrespectful, angry, and disruptive manner.
It’s nice to see that the right is finally embracing free speech after having a falling-out with it during the Bush era, and those of us on the left have to remember that we were once in their place, fighting to have our voices heard. But with free speech comes great responsibility, as Joe Wilson may soon learn (the campaign of Rob Miller, who is hoping to unseat Joe Wilson in the next election, got a $40,000 dollar boost in the hours after his utterance).
Still, it seems that right-wing headline-makers grow more powerful with every negative comment hurled at them, as in the curious case of Sarah Palin. And now that she can add backer Joe Wilson to the other two Joes she’s helped make household names, Joe Six Pack and Joe the Plumber, her unholy trinity is complete. Maybe 2012 really will be the end…
