One of Kentucky’s greatest apple festivals is held the first Saturday of every October in Paintsville, which is in Johnson County, Kentucky. The 2009 theme for the Kentucky Apple Festival is “As American As Apple Pie” and as usual, the 47th running promises to be a hit for everyone in the family. Paintsville, Kentucky may ring a bell to many as it is where Butcher Hollow is located, the home of famed country singer Loretta Lynn.
