Khloe Kardashian just got married to Lamar Odom and everyone wants to see the wedding pictures (except me). The famous-for-being-famous Khloe Kardashian has been the darling of the tabloids since it was revealed that she was pregnant (which I didn’t care about, either — and she’s not). But the reality show star did indeed get married to Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom and the wedding pictures are being Google searched for on the internet (except by me). Parenthetically speaking, this writer could care less about the wannabe reality show famous (read: Khloe Kardashian), but if writing about her and Lamar Odom’s wedding pictures makes me a few pennies, show me the pictures!
By the way, who caught the bouquet? Ryan Seacrest?
People love videos and pictures. Since it is estimated that our brain gets most of its information from visual stimuli (up to 90%), there is good reason for the affinity. Add in nostalgia, tradition, triggered emotions, sentimentality, visual aesthetics, and a few million other things that not only is processed through the brain via the eye, not to mention memories, thoughts of colors, tastes, olfactory stimulation, and aural reception — weddings (relived through their videos and pictures) are often seminal events in the lives and memories of many. Seeing others get married seems to re-trigger all the processes of the experiences of other weddings, including one’s own (or second, or third, or…)
Khloe Kardashian married Lamar Odom on Sunday. The entire event was filmed for E! Television’s “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” the reality show that made Khloe, Kris, Kourtney (she’s the pregnant one), and Kim famous (well, Kim did have help with that sex tape), so if wedding pictures aren’t your thing (like they’re not mine) and videos are (wedding videos are not my thing, either, but, remember, I’m playing along), you could wait until the show aired. Until then, you’ll have to settle for the wedding pictures.
Gossip Jackal reported that Khloe Kardashian and her new husband are being paid $300,000 for the exclusive rights to the wedding pictures. OK! Magazine, the same magazine that ran the Michael Jackson near death photo as a tribute, is reportedly the purchaser.
But for those who don’t need to see the “exclusive” pictures that OK! Magazine will unveil and can get by with the paparazzi shots like those on Bitten and Bound and TMZ, then they are already there waiting for you.
And for those of you like me, who really do not care what Khloe Kardashian’s wedding pictures look like, or that Ryan Seacrest showed up as a guest, you might be interested in the reality that four students were arrested in the Derrion Albert beating death in Chicago Monday or that Iran said they were ready for international inspectors to come in and look around the recently disclosed secret second uranium enrichment nuclear facility.
