Internet Marketing is the hook, the Pentagon offer the products and it’s the exclusive few who get to peddle the information. This as we shall see is a new trend in the media Landscape. We live in a world that is propped for reasons be-known from past societies regression, with a history of crooks, criminals, charlatans and con men.
One day in the early 19th century one man in the city of America came up with the notion of mass marketing and mass advertisements. Prior to this day for which we all now take for granted we walk around in a world of advertisements, huge banner ads and despicable branded labels. This might seem a bit of an overly descriptive post apocalyptic analyse of the Internet marketing world but as we shall see our story begins the same way as it is today, only this notion has bigger and bigger and bigger. It will continue to get bigger and bigger and bigger only the way we interpret these type of sales in congruent with the money we hold in tightly to in our pockets.
About two years ago I spoke to you about currency, this post has nothing to do with any particular currency or commodity it’s simply about sales. Think about it can you think of anything more attractive than a bargain. But online marketing in-order to attract this type of selling power you first have to construct a narrative about a product. Here’s the deal if you like the spiel, you’ll buy the rubbish, if 1,000 people own the rubbish then that 1,000 people can engage in a discussion about the practical use of that useless information. In-turn this will begin a chain of events that will keep you busy and lead you down a path elusive of making money. Money being natures way of focusing on a goal, which in this day and age is arguably priceless.
So who are these marketing legends that are peddling change?
Barrack Obama has just been voted Marketer of the year. He is very close to the Pentagon who originally brought these wonderful ideas into fruition, however his relationship with the marketing process has nothing to do with how this distraction came about in the first place.
Marketing is being promoted alongside what can only be described as binary opposites. Binary because what they represent to cure will at some point just be symbolic of what you are experiencing. This includes weight loss packaged as weight gain, it includes happiness that is shrouded with harrowing stories, it’s good news, great humour wrapped up in innuendo’s of violence and up and coming corruption. But the truth is myself and many other friends I engage in dialogue with have the Marketing Bug. Hence why America’s president has just been recently awarded this merit. To be a good sales man you need to talk the talk and walk the walk.
Some other key factors of marketing is storytelling, once upon a time there was a product and now there’s a different product, but when you take the story or take the product and break down the electronic squeeze page, the contents the gifts the give aways and all that your left with is a digital a package of information. This information is usually a reaction to a series of events that have become popular.
Recently many successful salesmen have come out of retirement to continue with there motivational speeches. This in-turn has created a reaction online, on the streets and in the home. Kids instead of pop star posters on there walls are stopping to product placement. They are doing there own product branding, they are equipped to set up shop. Unfortunately you only have to go out into your local high-street to see that many of the real business’s who have spent 30 years or more specialising in selling physical products have gone out of business. The relationship between banks and original ideas have been wavered. The new bankers are the parents, they offer unbidden loans to the youth who in-turn mimic there role models and become big shot salesmen. However this is possibly one reason why normal dialogue and the usual cash of the counter nostalgia has began to crumble.
Marketing has become a great big how-to and another opportunity to people to get excited about piggyback riding on the back of polystyrene giants. The best part of opening an electronic product is indeed opening the product. Even this you don’t need to do no more, you can just go onto Youtube and watch someone, often a marketer unwrap a new product. As they eloquently unseal the box and open these products we begin to see the Pandora’s box effect. The illusion being the size of these information products. The first coating of the package is a pretty cover made of rain-forest cardboard, The inner seal is again a polystyrene shell, within these gates are pretty leaflets that often get left with the receipts and if your lucky all of this will either be later resold or remain in the loft and that’s if your lucky. Often this type of packaging just gets flinged in the bin. But like any train set enthusiast or Tonka toy fan will tell you the price holds with the packaging. My concern is that underneath all this sugar-coated information there lies a whole load of unused tosh in the centre.
Digital ideas seem to flock together as it were as new communities make commodities of wasted instructions of how they spent many years inside trying to figure out the old instruction manual. It’s only later they find prior to purchasing the instructions which prior to 1990’s you would have expected compulsory with a physical product. So how did Obama come into all these misconnected idea’s.
Well like I already highlighted inside this rant about marketing, if enough people seem to be researching, continually tweeting about and observable repeating in there narrative you will begin to understand the nature of good sales. Think about it, information as we know is a greater commodity in this day and age and physical products that can like the packaging of posted information products clog up your living space. We know our television sets don’t tell lies and no longer need to read the paper to understand the smell of a great fragrance or the validity in fashion of some old bag and flashy make up box so why the hell should we go shopping down the highsteet.
Obama like Branson on any other of these successful marketers who I really do not want to mention here, and join the name dropping phenomenon are part of the Internet celebrity phenomenon. It’s difficult to define genre’s in music so we put a poster of the record label on the wall or better still the bag that advertises the shop we bought all the different tracks in. We believe the illusions of online shopping in the way in which we continually bring our internet presence to the sites that have coupons to make the process seem financially viable. But what we forget about is the smaller business’s who have been around a lot longer than any smooth dressed marketer. These small markets on the way to the supermarket do well still because thankfully not everyone are online.
Online we read about exercise, as we read we feel fulfilled in the hope we may one day with the power of now and the secret and other mind-mapping principals be more equipped to go out put the footwork in. The irony of this of course is the reading of these repetitive principals are equally as tiring as doing the Flora marathon.
