With Microsoft Works templates, you can create your own resume. Making professional looking resumes is very easy when using Microsoft Works. In this tutorial, I will show you how to open your resume template and how to fill it in and print it. If you need to create a resume and have Microsoft Works, use this tutorial and you will be on your way to a professional looking resume.
Step 1 – Opening Your Resume Template
Your first step is to open your Resume Template. To do this, you will need to open your task launcher. If you do not know how to open the task launcher, follow these steps. If you do, go ahead and open it and load it. To open your task launcher, click your Start button. When the menu opens, click the All Programs button. The menus will open and you will need to look for the Microsoft Works folder. Place your mouse over the folder and click Task Launcher in the menu that expands. Give it a second and your Task Launcher will load. If you computer is a bit slow at loading, it may take about a minute or two to load.
Once the task launcher loads, you will see the Template button at the top of the window. Go to the top of the window and click the template button. Then you will see the list of template categories down the left side of the program. You will need to click the Letters and Labels category to view the sub-categories. Once the sub-categories load on the right side of the task launcher, click the Resume sub-category. The task launcher will reload and you will see the different styles of resumes in the middle column. Click the different thumbnails to see a larger view of the resume styles. Once you find the style you want to use, click the Use This Style link at the top of your window.
Step 2 – Creating Your Resume
Now that you have your resume template open, you will need to fill in the different sections. Before you start filling in all of the sections, it is best to go ahead and save the resume to your computer. That way while you are working on it, you can continue to save it so you won’t lose your information. To save it, go to the top of your window and click File > Save As. Then give your resume a name and save it to your computer.
Now, fill in the sections of the resume and continue to save it as you go. Click File > Save to save it. Once you have it all filled in, you can print it. Go to the top of your window and click File > Print. You may have to set your printer up to print the correct number of copies you want. Make sure you save it before closing it out. That way, if you ever need to print it again, you will have it already on your computer and won’t have to create a new one.
