Miley Cyrus Bus Crash: A Bus Crash Leaves 1 Dead, Miley Cyrus Unscathed

by sawpan

The Miley Cyrus bus crash isn’t an internet hoax. A week after “Miley Cyrus Dead” rumors flew through the Internet, the bus crash is a very serious and very real incident. Unfortunately one individual died. However, Miley Cyrus was not on the bus when it crashed. One year ago, in November 2008, there were rumors that Miley Cyrus was killed in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. Fortunately that was just a rumor. Celebrity death hoaxes are very dangerous, as they can mask real tragedies when they happen.

According to the Associated Press, Virginia State Police state that 16-year-old “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus was not on board a tour bus that flipped over at around 8:15 am this morning on I-85 in Dinwiddie, Virginia. Dinwiddie is about 40 miles south of Richmond.

The pop singer is scheduled to appear Sunday in Greensboro, N.C. There’s no word if the concert will be re-scheduled as a result of today’s tragic bus crash.

Back in late June, a string of celebrity death rumors such as those involving Jeff Goldblum, Natalie Portman, George Clooney, Britney Spears, Harrison Ford and Rick Astley were followed by the quite tragic deaths of Michael Jackson, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Billy Mays.

In light of how tragic celebrity deaths – or any deaths for that matter – are, celebrity death rumors should be looked down on. In the age of the Internet, all someone has to do to start one of these rumors is to write a blog post or publish a YouTube video. It’s far too easy to cause far much controversy.

That being said, when I first saw “Miley Cyrus Bus Crash” listed as a hot headline, I almost rolled my eyes, thinking “not again” until I saw that Us Magazine reported on the matter. Us Magazine wouldn’t likely fuel the spread of a harmful rumor.

Luckily, Miley Cyrus is still alive and well. She’s unhurt. However, can you imagine how horrific her fans would feel if she really did die in an accident? The celebrity death rumors passed along about Miley may have very easily come true.

That being said, the Miley Cyrus bus crash is not a rumor. Someone really did die today on Miley’s tour bus. There were also several people injured. This is not an internet rumor and should showcase just how dangerous internet rumors such as celebrity death hoaxes really are. Can you imagine all the people that thought this was a joke until they actually read legitimate news reports?
