Mircrosoft Office software has long been known as the best way to create some of the most amazing documents that stand out in the crowd. Other companies boast of great word processing programs but MS Word is still the winner hands down. One of the options in MS Word 2007, is the translation tool. It will look the words up online for you and give you the translation without ever having to leave your document.
Here are some tips on how to use the translator in MS Word 2007:
After you open your Word program, click on the “Review” tab found at the top, right side of the window. Several new options will appear. In the toolbar, go to the second column and choose the word “Translate”. A sidebar will appear on the right hand side or the window. Type or copy and paste the word that you wish to translate into the “Search for” box. Hit the enter key and the translation process will begin. MS Word will seek the translation and bring back the results directly to the sidebar.
The setting for the translation will usually be From English To French. You can change the language of either by clicking on the corresponding arrow to the specific box you wish to change. There are 17 different languages to choose from.
The translation will appear under the “Bilingual Dictionary”, “translation” box below the query boxes. It will tell you if there were no results. If that happens, look under the “Can’t find it?” box. It gives you other options on places to search. Clicking on these buttons will change what you see in the sidebar. Great resources are available from both “All Reference Books” and “All Research Sites”. It appears the results are much better in the “All Research Sites” option though. After you are done with the information on that sidebar, click the “back” button at the top of the sidebar and it will return you to the previous screen.
There is one very amazing option called “Translate the whole document”. Click the green arrow under these words and within seconds a Window will open with your entire document translated to the desired language. If you are creating a document that is meant to be read by people in different languages, this can be a life saving tool.
The MS Word translation tool is a great time saver. You don’t have to go to your web browser to search for a site that does translations. MS Word has already found it for you. The only thing you have to do is put it to use. MS Office Software has everything you could possibly want in a good word processing program. Word 2007’s translation tool is just one of the amazing things you can do without having to change windows every few seconds.
