NFL Week 5 power rankings are more revealing after Week 5’s super showdowns. The NFL Week 5 power rankings are now dominated by 4-0 teams, who made big statements in the NFL Week 5. The power rankings may differ on which 4-0 team is on top, but they are all leading the way after one quarter of the NFL season. The NFL Week 5 power rankings are highlighted by three early powers from the NFC, in particular.
The Giants being on top of the NFL Week 5 power rankings is no surprise, after brushing aside the Chiefs. But with Eli Manning’s injured heel, there will be questions about how long the Giants can stay there. Especially since the other two top teams in the NFC made huge statements in Week 5.
The Saints improved to 4-0 by using defense to beat the Jets, while the Vikings won the first Brett Favre bowl against the Packers. The Giants, Saints and Vikings are now the class of the NFC early season – with the Giants and Saints going up against each other in two weeks. That may be a case of No. 1 vs No. 2 in the NFL power rankings, if they are both still unbeaten.
As for the AFC, the Colts had an easy time staying unbeaten, while the Broncos proved some doubters wrong against the Cowboys. The Patriots and Steelers each got big wins as well, so they may still be more highly regarded than the Broncos. Denver can change that in a hurry by beating the Patriots on Sunday, however.
The NFL Week 5 power rankings show who has the biggest head start on the road to the Super Bowl. The finish is a bit more important, of course, but the teams on top now will have big bullseyes on their backs for the rest of the season.
The Giants, Saints and Vikings have set the bar for the NFC, while the Colts, Broncos, Ravens, Patriots and Jets are right where they want to be in the AFC – with the Steelers and Chargers still lurking.
