Octomom documentary to be shown on Fox. An Octomom documentary will air on Fox as part of a two hour special. The Octomom documentary will be called Octomom: The Incredible Unseen Footage and will air for the first time on Monday, August 19th at 8:00 P.M. This move by Fox to be the first to air an Octomom documentary will surely bring them under fire, as the buzz surrounding shows like these often split the audiences between love and hate. Fox just made the announcement, and it is already coming with a warning that viewers are going to react strongly to what they see in the documentary.
Octomom: The Incredible Unseen Footage, will center around Nadya Suleman, who had octuplets not too long ago, and went from media darling to media pariah in the blink of an eye. Now Fox is looking to really capitalize on all of the publicity that has surrounded Nadya Suleman, and they will look to probably really promote the heck out of this two-hour special. Noting that the Octomom documentary will come out so soon after the announcement is probably intentional in order to draw more viewers, and if the spectacles over at Jon and Kate Plus 8 predict anything when it comes to increased viewership, Fox should expect to have a hit on their hands with this Nadya Suleman documentary.
In an article by Entertainment Weekly, Mike Darnell from Fox stated that the documentary is “incredibly compelling” and “it will feel like you are inside her life”. He went on to state that the cameras have been filming since day one, so it will show both the ups and downs of her life so far, and it should definitely be an interesting look into the life of Nadya Suleman. Before this most people only had the press to rely upon when it came to information about Nadya Suleman and her octuplets, but now everyone that wants to watch the documentary will get a first hand look at the life of Suleman and her children.
Everyone knew that something surrounding Nadya Suleman and her octuplets would make it to television eventually. There were rumors that there would be a reality show, but that was taken over by a European company that will probably air that outside of the United States. That gives Fox a monopoly on the documentary footage of Nadya Suleman, and most likely a ratings winner with people wanting to tune in and learn more about “Octomom”. It is a tad surprising that Fox didn’t give more advance notice of the Octomom documentary, but in the end it probably won’t hurt their ratings numbers anyways. Maybe it will be a way to put a face to Nadya Suleman as well, and show how she truly deals with the turmoil’s of caring for all those children.
