Open Call for Hell’s Kitchen – Season 8 – Monday October 19th 2009 10am – 5pm

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

If you have already been scheduled for ON CAMERA audition OR you have already been put on camera in the last few weeks or have already made a video tape submission you do NOT have to attend the open auditions. Also, if you have already auditioned on camera in the past few years, you do not need to attend the open call. They will be reviewing your tapes BUT as a reminder you can always send us an email and let them know you are interested in auditioning.

If you will be attending any of the OPEN CALLS, please be ready to be PATIENT. It can take HOURS depending on the response. The majority of the contestants on that have been on the show had attended open calls and waited patiently. THEY WILL BE SPEAKING WITH PEOPLE BASED ON THE ORDER THEY ARRIVE AT THE OPEN CALL.

You will NOT be cooking. DO NOT bring cooking knives or utensils.

At the open call, you will be given a short preliminary interview and if they think you are appropriate, you will be given an appointment time to be put on camera in the next few weeks immediately following.

You must be available to come back in the next few weeks after the audition for an on camera audition if we consider you. They also may contact you sometime after the open call even if you were not given an appointment that day to do a preliminary phone interview and then set up an appointment.

If you have a culinary resume, please bring it with you – but it is not necessary.

There is no mandatory dress code for the open calls.

You may bring a chef coat if you have one or feel free to dress in something that shows your personality.

The exact start date for the taping of Season 8 is not known yet. You must be available to be away for up to 6 weeks, no exceptions.

Please be completely honest when filling out the application. There are no wrong answers. The taping of the show will probably take place in California.

It will be helpful, but not mandatory if you bring an application already filled out with you to the audition. Applications on line at www.fox.com/Hellskitchen.

We will have applications at the open auditions for those people that are set up for on camera interviews.

Some of the type of things you should think about for the interviews: Do you have any interesting tidbits about yourself we should know? What sets you apart from everyone else-OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT YOU THINK YOU CAN COOK AND HAVE A GREAT PERSONALITY? What is your experience in the culinary business? Don’t just tell them about your personality-show them your personality! What wouldn’t they know about you by looking at you? Are you competitive…and what examples from your past show that? Where did your love of food come from? Why do you want to be on the show?

You must be over 21 to audition and to attend any open calls!
You must be a US Citizen or permanent legal resident of the U.S.

***IF you are flying in for the NY audition , please send an email (your contact info, where you are coming from, your culinary experience, why you want to be on the show, what sets you apart from everyone else, your age, a photo, and as much info as possible about yourself).
