I recently was given the opportunity to try a great product made by Oral-B. I’m so glad I was given the chance to try their Smart Series 5000 electric toothbrush, because I think it’s a fabulous product! I’ve never really been someone that uses electric toothbrushes alot, but that’s a thing of the past, as long as I have this toothbrush to use.
First, I was rather surprised at the level of technology built in to this electric toothbrush. Wow! I didn’t know electric toothbrushes could be so cutting edge! It comes with a smart guide display unit which has so many great functions to help keep you on task. This is good for someone like myself because it’s likely I don’t spend enough time on the actual dentist recommended 2 minutes for brushing when I do my own oral care, leaving me vulnerable to all the dental maladies. The pulsing feature on the toothbrush handle let’s you know when you’ve reached 2 minutes of brushing time. I’ll go over some of the great features this brush has to help you get a good idea of all the things it’s capable of.
Smart Guide Display
This gadget of the brush kit is the heart of it all. It displays a timer, that either counts up from 0-2 minutes, or counts down from 2 minutes down to zero, which ever you choose. At that point, the pulsing mentioned in the above paragraph will occur on the toothbrush handle you’re brushing with. Then the smart guide display will show a smiley face within a circle to let you know you’ve accomplished the dentist recommended 2 minute time for brushing. How’s that for taking good care of you and your teeth?
The smart guide display also a has diagram of a circular mouth divided in 4 equal quadrants. This diagram represents which portion of your teeth you should be brushing by flashing on a specific quadrant. When you begin brushing, the top right quadrant of the circular mouth will begin flashing letting you know to start working on that location of your teeth. The location of this spot in your mouth will be your lower right quadrant of your teeth. Or, the bottom right half. Then as the process proceeds, the flashing on the circular mouth will move to the lower right quadrant . You then know you should be brushing the next quadrant of your mouth, or the top right half of your teeth, and so on until the entire circular mouth on the smart guide display has flashed, at which time your entire mouth should be brushed. I thought this feature made it really easy to be thorough with brushing. In the end, you’ll benefit from that.
Brushing Modes
There are 5 modes of brushing you can use to reach whatever goal you have for your teeth. The daily clean mode, sensitive mode, massage mode, whitening mode, deep clean mode. All you have to do to switch modes is to press the toothbrush handle’s mode button on top and the modes will change. I have tried all the modes and I’d have to say my favorite is the whitening mode. I’m very pleased with how it helps to get the coffee stains off of my teeth, but I’m also a fan of the daily brushing mode. It’s just a nice thorough brushing mode, that cleans the teeth very well. The sensitive mode has a noticeably more gentle difference to it as it brushes, which you’ll like if you have sensitive teeth.
At the end of the day, I’m thrilled with my Oral B SmartSeries 5000 electric toothbrush. I’m so happy I’ve had the opportunity to find out how great a product it is. Good job Oral B!
