The holidays are a wonderful time for winter sports enthusiasts! At no other time of the year can they be so close to their favorite hobby. Thankfully they can be pretty easy to gift for too. If you have a friend that’s really into snowboarding- here are some suggestions for what you should put under his or her tree this year!
1. New Goggles.
Find out his or her favorite color and pick up a new pair of goggles matching it. It’s a kind gesture considering that extra little bit of preparation and they are functional.
2. A New Coat.
Does your friend have a ratty old jacket that he’s been forced to wear for years while gliding across the snow? Find out their favorite color again and pick up a new winter coat for him or her. Be warned- if your best friend loves bright orange or some other less appealing apparel color, you might want to discreetly ask for their second favorite.
3. A Camcorder.
One thing that many snowboarders wish they could do is record themselves snowboarding. If you’ve got the extra cash, why not spring for a nice camcorder to fulfill that dream? Just make sure he or she doesn’t already have one!
4. Snow Cap, Gloves, & Boots.
This is more of a set than gifts bought individually. Get your slope-tearing friend a nice warm snow cap, some stylish snow boots, and a nice comfortable pair of gloves. It gets cold up there!
5. Hot Cocoa.
I don’t just mean a few packs of Kroger brand Cocoa- that wouldn’t quite convey the right message. Get your friend some of the really desirable stuff. Best of all, when they’re done for the day- they’ll think of you as they get warmed up and sip cocoa.
6. A Wii Balance Board & Wii.
It’s a shame that we can’t commit to our hobbies whenever we want- especially when that hobby requires a mountain and a lot of snow. Thankfully the Nintendo Wii has several games that simulate the fun of snowboarding right in their living room! The Wii Balance board is a peripheral that allows the player to stand atop it and maneuver gameplay through their own movements and balance. Some Wii games that feature snowboarding are- Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympics, Wii Fit, SSX Blur, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Ski 2, and Shaun White Snowboarding.
7. A New Snowboard.
This one is tricky. These can be sort of pricey and your recipient might be very attached to their own board and unwilling to change over to your gifted one. If nothing else, you can purchase it as a token of your affection for your friend to be a back-up board. The other issue is that he or she might have wanted to pick it out for themselves. Your best option is to closely investigate your friend’s feelings for their own board. If they’re constantly complaining how they have use tape to keep the thing together, that’s your green light.
