Here are some of my thoughts from last night’s Project Runway episode:
Irina is easily the best designer of this group. I don’t really like her personality wise. That all-business attitude is fine but it doesn’t mean she has to be a witch and trash everyone else. But, she did have a point last night; every other designer seems to do the same thing every week and plays it safe. She tries to outdo her previous effort.
And, it showed last night. That outfit of hers, though a bit too on the brown side, was absolutely amazing. It was a three part outfit that was hard to believe was designed in just one day to and it caught your eye when many of the other outfits that were on that runway were OK but didn’t really stand out. I will be surprised if she doesn’t win this competition.
More and more, I am convinced Heidi is having an affair. No, I don’t see any evidence of this. But, the fact Christopher keeps surviving week in and week out despite the fact he is ALWAYS in the bottom two makes me wonder if he has some pictures of her with another man. As I told my wife last night, he is easily one of the weakest designers on the show but it wouldn’t surprise me if he somehow found a way to win the competition.
Despite what I said above about Christopher, I was glad they got rid of Nicholas. The more I watched him, the more I became convinced he didn’t belong in a competition like this. He did win one of the challenges but, if it wouldn’t have been for the immunity from that win, would likely have been eliminated the next week.
Milla Jovovich is easily one of the best guest judges I’ve seen on this show. I was amazed at how much detail she gave with her critiques on each of the designers. Some of the show’s regular judges don’t give nearly as much feedback as she did; usually consisting of a compliment of one part of the outfit and a comment about something she would have liked to see done differently.
Speaking of Jovovich, her comment about Gordana was right on the money. She is a decent designer who has potential to win this competition (or at least be one of the top three designers) but she does have a tendency to hurt herself by putting down her work and pointing out things she doesn’t like about the outfit. This week, for example, she apologized for making another gray dress even though none of the judges said anything about that.
There are only two challenges left in this season’s competition. And, unless Logan or Christopher come back to wow the judges, I think it’ll be an all female final with Irina, Carol Hannah and Althea.
