When Len and I visited a dermatologist for a free skin cancer screening, we were both even bags with lots of sample products. I have really enjoyed receiving the Johnson & Johnson products. The one I am reviewing today is the Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash. I was lucky enough to get 2 sample bottles in each bag. The sample bottles are 1 fluid ounce, so I actually got 4 fluid ounces of product. If I had purchased a bottle to begin with I would have paid around $5, at a discount store, and only received 2 fluid ounces more.
These little bottles are white and have a flip-top to them, whereas the full size (6 ounce) product has a pump-dispenser. I really prefer the flip top because you have more chance of getting all the product out.
Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash can be used twice a day, but I only use mine at nigh time just before going to bed. It is very easy to use, as I just wet my hands and face. Then I squeeze a tiny bit of the clear gel into the palm of my hand. I then rub my hands together and the gel forms a foam. I then apply this to my face and neck area.
Even though it doesn’t tell you to leave it on your face, with all cleansers I like to leave them on my face for a few minutes, before removing it. I then rinse my face and neck with warm water. It takes off the grim and my makeup too. It does such a good job that I normally use a Kleenex, to make sure all the black, from my mascara doesn’t get on the towel. My eyelashes change from black, to my color, brown.
What Johnson & Johnson say about their product:
Directions: Moisten skin, work cleanser into a lather, apply and gently massage. Rinse throughly.”
“Clinically shown gentle as water.
Won’t clog pores.
Cleanses without drying or irritating
100% oil-free and non-comedogenic.”
I agree with all the Johnson & Johnson say about Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash. My face always feels clean and fresh after using it. It has to be mild because that is what the Johnson & Johnson brand is all about. It has a very slight fragrance to it, but you hardly notice it. Having used L’Oreal Revitalift Radiant Smoothing Cream Cleanser, and getting patches of dry skin, and red blotches, I now prefer to settle for products that are true and proven.
I have used three of the four bottles, and plan on purchasing the 6 ounce pump action bottle, as soon as I see a good price on it, and also get a coupon. It retails for just over $6 in most stores, but I plan on buying it at a rock bottom price. After all, the fun of shopping is getting a great deal.
