by sawpan

Reindeer are one of the more fun aspects of Christmas. Without them Santa wouldn’t be able to visit each house and deliver gifts for everyone. Why not sit down with your kid and make some reindeer Christmas crafts? It will keep both you and them occupied while having a great time together. Here are three fun reindeer Christmas crafts that you and your kid can do together.

Craft Idea #1: Paper Plate Rudolph

Materials:
Paper Plate
Brown Construction Paper
Pencil
Red Cotton Ball
Black Marker
Safety Scissors
Glue

Step One: Take the pencil and draw two big antlers on the brown construction paper.

Step Two: Using the safety scissors, cut along the lines.

Step Three: Turn your paper plate face down and glue the antlers at the top.

Step Four: Using the marker, draw eyes and a mouth underneath the antlers. Be sure to leave enough room for the nose.

Step Five: Glue the red cotton ball above the mouth. If you wish, you can use a black cotton ball to represent another reindeer. That’s it! You have a paper plate reindeer.

Craft Idea #2: Handprint Reindeer

Materials:
White Construction Paper
Brown Construction Paper
Brown Paint
Safety Scissors
Glue
Pencil
Black Marker
Spare Paper

Step 1: On your brown construction paper, draw an oval and use the scissors to cut it out.

Step 2: Glue the brown oval on the white paper, but be sure to leave plenty of room on the top.

Step 3: Draw a face on the brown oval with the black marker. Don’t forget eyes, nose and mouth.

Step 4: Spread the brown paint on the spare piece of paper. Then press your hand into it and press it above the brown oval. These handprints will represent the antlers.

Step 5: Set it aside a few hours so it dries. You now have a handprint reindeer!

Craft Idea #3: Reindeer Food

(This one is a craft for the reindeer when they visit.)

Materials:
Small Paper Cup
Paints
Paintbrushes
Dried Oatmeal
Glitter

Step one: Paint the paper cup in any design you wish. Wait for it to dry.

Step two: Put the oatmeal and glitter inside the cup.

Step three: Put your hand over the top of the cup and shake so the oatmeal and glitter mix.

Step four: On Christmas Eve, take the cup outside and sprinkle the mixture on your lawn. The oatmeal is for the reindeer to eat and the glitter is so the reindeer will see it.

Each one of these reindeer Christmas crafts will be a fun activity for your child to do. They’re easy, inexpensive, and cute activities. These reindeer Christmas crafts are also a great way for you to spend time together.
