My husband and two children went to Anchorage, Alaska for 10 days in September. Since we were going to be there for so many days we chose to stay at the Residence Inn Anchorage Midtown. Here I will review this hotel so you will know what to expect.
Our room was a two bedroom suite with a kitchen. It was very spacious and had plenty of drawers and hangers for us to unpack our backs and make ourselves comfortable. The beds were really comfortable, but the pillows were a little soft for my taste, but my husband liked them.
The kitchen had a refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, toaster over, and some pots, cups, plates, and silverware. This was great because it allowed us to keep sandwich makings and drinks for the kids in the room so we didn’t have to spend a fortune at vending machines in the hotel. We were also able to cook dinner a couple of nights.
The housekeeping service was great working around our schedule because we were often in the room for nap time when they came by to clean and they either just took the trash out for me if I asked or came back later to fully clean the room. They were even very accommodating by leaving me extra trash bags and other items that I seemed to need during our stay.
The hotel offered a free breakfast every morning. The staff during the breakfast was extremely nice and helpful. They would often help me if needed since I had two children with me. The food was delicious, but after about 5 days it would have been nice if they changed it up a bit. It was the same types of food every day and it got a little old.
Monday through Thursday they offered free dinner and drinks. This was great because if we didn’t feel like going out to eat we could just grab what they had to offer. They had a calendar in your room so you knew exactly what they were offering every night.
The hotel also offered laundry services, pool and hot tub, exercise room, basketball and tennis court, and grilling area. There were two separate laundry rooms in the hotel available for guests to use. They were coin operated and had vending machines for the detergent. This was great because I was able to wash a good bit of laundry before we came home. The indoor pool and hot tub areas were very nice and clean. I did not use the exercise room or the other features, but they all looked very clean and maintained.
Overall I would recommend the Residence Inn Anchorage Midtown. We had a wonderful time and found nothing wrong with this hotel.
